What are some more luxurious combat boots?

I'm looking for something that isn't surplus (which are cheap, uncomfortable, and crappy) and that isn't designer (which is ridiculously overpriced for the quality). I'm thinking in the range of $200-$450

I can only think of Solovair (which still has poor reviews). I would get White's but it would be LARPy for a dude who doesn't even live in a rural area.

These look pretty versatile desu.
Jeans, cargo pants, wool pants would work yeah, even corduroy. The fit is important, nothing too skinny but also don't go too far into boomer or JNCO territory.
I'd go for darker colours, I think ususally pants should be close in tone to boots, not always but usually.

Sneaker and loafer wearer here.
I live in UK so it’s A/W now, I want to try boots which pair well with a lot of different types and styles of clothing but I’m not sure which style to get. Nothing too flamboyant but also don’t want it too militaristic. Not sure how I feel about brogue and I think I’m leaning towards a black boot. I’d rather not look too reddit or classic menswear tier since I’m only mid 20s.

What should I consider that actually fits a UK environment?

>he doesn't think that nails = quality
they allow you to rebuild the entire boot, and allow for sturdier construction compared to glue or pure stitching
if you are referring to the "nails" on the bottom of OP pic, those are caulks, and are generally used in areas that are too slippery or steep for traditional lug soles, such as in logging, forestry, and icy areas

No I'm not.

If you actually check out whites boots irl

There is a ridiculous amount of nails all over everything. Like 30 in the heel alone you can examine by lifting the insole.

There are even nails visible holding parts of the outsole to the midsole.

how would you recommend attaching sections of the boot together that can withstand the rigours of the woods? these aren't fashion boots, they are designed to get beat to shit and rebuilt, the heel stack alone is like an inch of leather to get through. glue will melt or fall apart, you need to either stitch (too thick) or screw the boot together

It's such a lame gimmick.

You can use a Goodyear welt to attach your sole to the upper like had been done for 100 years.

You don't need 47 nails to hold your outsole to your midsole.

And heel stacks use a combination of SOME nails and adhesive.

Some. Not 60.....

They're just using it as a gimmick weighing down the boot

Poordag here, can't into whites boots. I want some logger style boots like in OP but can't find anything close to that style for my price range ($230usd)
I kinda made myself like the look of carolina lineman and elms. Would definitely replace the laces on these with either black or white laces.

These are much cheaper and they kinda look better but I wish they were completely black like white's, not a fan of the stripe of brown where the upper meets the sole. I like the linesmens I posted because they're less standard looking than your average boot.

>>15503654
the spikes (caulks) allow you to stick into slash and duff (forest debris like fallen logs and leaf litter) without sliding around. with a normal lug sole, the boot has a tendency to lose traction on wet wood, or steep terrain.
it essentially allows you to reverse what you can normally hike on. with spikes, wet wood and steep terrain is a breeze. as SOON as you start hitting rocks, though, you start slipping and sliding everywhere.

>> No.15504176

>>15504162
that's called wet-forming leather, and will damage the oil-tanned 8 oz leather that most PNW logger boots are made with. in the end, this can cause the hardware used to make the boot become unseated, wear prematurely, and generally fuck up your leather since it wasn't designed to be submerged in water. will it break in faster? yes. is it good for the $300-650 boot you just bought? fuck no
you want to break in the boot with a combination of the heat from your foot, the pressure of your body moulding the leather, and the sweat from your foot allowing it to slowly form around your unique foot shape. if you wet form this boot, you will need to let it then dry for days before it's not saturated, which means that it will form to a different shape than your foot, the leather is losing much of its natural oil (which means you will have to oil the inside of the boot which is fucking retarded and will ruin all of your socks), and is going to fuck up the stitching and hardware.
just wear the boots a little bit at a time, enough to get some heat and sweat and to pound the leather a bit. 30 minutes the first day, then an hour, then 3 hours, then a day, etc., I usually just wear mine for the entire day right off the bat, but I use a different lacing style and already have thick callouses on my ankles and toes from the nature of my work.

tl;dr no, just wear them normally

they are also really outstanding with returns, they fucked up my caulks by putting all eyelets and no hooks, and remade the entire thing to put the hooks in. these are specialty boots that are rarely made, the foreman makes every single pair by himself since it's so uncommon, and they just took the loss to remake them since they fucked up, AND they refunded me 20%. top lads
>>15505020
sure! basically, you want to go
>eyelets
>FIRST hook
>THIRD hook
>back to the SECOND hook
>continue fourth, fifth, etc. to top
>do not use the top pair of eyelets
additionally, I suggest lacing your false-tongue like this:
>insert laces so that a small loop is formed on the top face of the false-tongue
>pull laces through their respective eyelets
>draw laces through the top face loop that you just made
>continue lacing as normal
essentially you are locking the false tongue in place so that it doesn't move around when you walk, and I think it looks nicer too

I can't seem to fit my skinny jeans over my boots. Does that make sense? I've seen others do it, but I guess mine aren't wide enough for that? I feel like tucking the jean into the boot, for skinny jeans, looks awkward.
