stimulus money worked out perfectly because I just made under 1k the threshold in 2018 to get the full check and I haven't submitted my taxes for 2019 where I doubled my income.
decided to spend 200~ of it on these bad boys since I love my other pair in suede so much. I think I'll put rest against stocks.

got my ebay finds today, or most of em at least. unfortunately theres clearly not exactly enough sleeve here on the coat. given theres a good inch of wool on the inside of the sleeve and plenty of slack lining too, could i pay a tailor to extend the arm? it needs other bits done if im going to wear it anyway.

also hows the general look of the outfit? i feel like besides it not fitting well, ive finally got something resembling a proper outfit together.

Black is just a colour fucknut. What matters more is the texture, a hopsack jacket or coarser weave black coat is as casual as you can get, you will just look sharper and smarteer than all the pretenders larping in blue or green. Formality is about texture not shade. The finer and finer the weave, the smoother, the more formal it is. But fuck it. I shouldn't throw pearls to swine.

I live in a part America where their isn't regulation on how you dress for a hunt, but nontheless I'll probably take a little bit of orange on a hat or scarf for my own safet. Otherwise I'm thinking probably my old chippewa boots and thrift wools, but I may invest a good waxed cotten jacket and a more rugged pair of corduroys. I like English hunting attire but I like the look of alot of vintage American hunting cloting as well so I expect some mix of that.

Haven't bought yet but I'm going out with Looks like this in mind

No one says that about shoes, retard. They obviously mean jackets, pants, etc. Black dress shoes are completely normal daytime businesswear. However, they tend to look awkward with more casual fits, such as with khakis. In a casual fit, brown loafers are a far better choice.

>> No.15160265

>>15159370

>if I wanted to wear a black jacket
Well, look at it from reverse. A suit means you basically are wearing the exact same color for both (or else it wouldn't be a suit). So, if you are not wearing a suit, you may as well try to create some contrast between them both. As opposed to wearing a black blazer, and a dark blue pair of trousers (little contrast).

If your casual jacket is black, and you jeans are black, then it looks good...why?---
because they create UNI-FORM-ity. It's like getting the "uniformity/completeness" of wearing a suit, without having to wear a suit.

Also backing the square, but I'm going to throw out that occasion matters. No square or plain white with a straight fold works for almost any occasion, but can be a bit plain for things like weddings, cocktail bars, dinners out, or similar. For these, depending on the dress code, you can certainly get away with more indulgent patterns and folds. The puff fold with a plain or simple patterned square will never fail you though.

Cheaney, Bodileys, Crockett and Jones, Franschetti, Scarosso, Allen Edmonds, and others. Many if these will be black stitch because European style loafers tend to go for the more slender look afforded by the Blake method, but Crockett and Jones, Alan Edmonds, and Bodileys are all probably Goodyear welted. I have no real problem with either method, but to each his own. If you want further options, check out any of the English heritage brands. I've only listed my favorites. For that price you could also wait and go to a cordwainer. Depending on which one, the only thing left off the menu for you would be cordovan. Hand patina, choice of colors and materials, all that would still be at your discretion.
