Your confidence should follow on from actually looking good.
Do you actually look good in this hat? I don't know, you may.
One thing I will say about hats is not all hats suit all people. Things like crown height and brim width need to be picked for the shape of your head and face, like sunglasses.

There is nothing wrong with the hat. It's strange how people stare at people, like in your example, but just ignore them. I wear hats, occasionally, especially if I am planning to spend more than fifteen minutes, outdoors. Here is a picture of a hat style that is the same as one of mine.

probably just by building a good fit from it that actually goes well will build up that confidence.

I´ve got a similar problem; I have what you´d call a hat-face as in "I can wear pretty much every hat and it´ll look good", but I lacked the confidence to wear extravagant hats for years.

I´d recommend starting with less "offensive" hats to built up confidence.

When I was learning to weld it was all toughMexicans, me and this other tall nerdy white guy that always wore a hat like post above. No one judged him for it cause it fit his personality and he was funny as fuck.

My point is, you dont have the confidence to wear it cause it doesnt suit you. If it did other people wouldn't see it as odd or unnatural. They sense your try hard. Either that or you a puss
