It's fine mate. You might want to start looking for something more mature than Eros. You're right that Kouros might be too much, albeit I'm only 26 and thanks to spraying it each time after getting out of a shower after a training I conditioned myself to have an adrenaline rush and to feel like the king of the world when I wear it lol. What we hate about Eros here is the shitposting of Erosposters and all these coomers thinking that it'll get them laid. Apart form that it's an aight fragrance which is still margins above Axe/Lynx.
You can find some Tom Fords/Memos/Acqua di Parmas etc at my TKMaxxx but majority of stuff are these shit celeb fragrances and other low mall shelf stuff for less than 30 quids. I live in Bongland.

I got these decants from a local perfumery (they market themselves as niche) which despite me not buying their vegan bullshit smell mostly creative nonetheless. My favorites are Vanilla and Fruits Rouges, which resembles a strawberry milkshake a bit, actually smelling surprisingly thinner than the color of the juice may suggest; and Acqua Profumata which is basically a really clean orange blossom lemon dumb reach for the high heat. Nothing amazing on their oud, I guess, although I'm not familiar with challenging ouds by any means. Some fragrances smelled really redundant, because a lot of them are amber+incense bombs which can only go so far to create different scent profile, which would be my main complaint with this house.
The face that all of their frags are parfum concentration sometimes is a bit of an hassle, too, because the skin feels very oily after you spray it and for something light as Acqua Profumata I have to spray a handful of times for it to perform.
Do any of you happen to have local brands making fragrances that aren't just copies of designer stuff?

Tbh, that's fine. There is a reason why the fresh and clean genre is the biggest genre in fragrances. There is an unspoken rule that men should smell fresh and clean for many social situations. Fragrance is the same as clothing and accessories really. Wear what is appropriate to the situation, instead of what these losers in this thread talk about. Dr. Kraft did say he feels that Sauvage is fruity Fierce.

>The Dior crew went with a copy of the most successful male Chanel frag lately, 'Bleu de Chanel' (2010) by Jacques Polge.
Well, let's just say half 'Bleu', the other half is taken from 'Fierce' (Abercrombie & Fitch, 2002) by Christophe Laudamiel and Bruno Jovanovic.
'Sauvage' is a woody-aromatic fougère and starts out pretty 'Bleu'-dihydromyrcenolic, hesperidic and minty. Compared with 'Blue' and 'Cool Water', 'Sauvage' is the least lavendulic of the lot, and the most minty-marine. That way the top can even be smelled as citation from Daniela Andrier's 'Luna Rossa' (Prada, 2012), enhancing the petitgrain side of the fougèrey start. 'Calone 1951' is clearly discernible with its watermelon character in the top of 'Sauvage', while the rest of the top is pretty much bergamot galore with just a slight peppery contrast to integrate the agrestic aspects around rosemary.
The rosemary and pepper do lead over to the 'Fierce' heart of 'Sauvage', which thus is less fruity than that of 'Blue', the apple aspects of which are missing, but of course it means also Iso E Super en masse and then a dry violet leaf theme. As in 'Fierce' this segues seamlessly into a pronounced moss of tree note, not as nice as in 'Legend' (Montblanc, 2011), but somewhat smoother than in 'Fierce'. This is where in 'Sauvage' a leather accord joins in, so that they could later do a leather version, and then 'Sauvage' dries down ambery-musky, with Ambroxan, and a musk fond that sadly is quite soapy and cheap smelling. Shame.
While the amber in 'Sauvage' might be nicer, the noble musk accord of 'Bleu de Chanel' around Nirvanolide and Muscenone clearly exceeds that of 'Sauvage' by far. Worn against 'Woodsy Riddim', the 'Iso E'-laden scent discussed yesterday, 'Sauvage' lacks substantivity and sillage, but if you love 'Fierce' and 'Bleu' then you should adore 'Sauvage'.

> In the trade, this is known as "decoding" the bottle. It is done to make it impossible to track what retailer or distributor was the original purchaser of the bottle. This is done by the original buyer to offload overstock, or to simply go into the gray market as a side business, without the manufacturer figuring out who's diverting. This is all as I understand it, I'm no expert. I may be wrong about this but I personally see a decoded bottle as a sign of authentic product. No one's going to decode a fake. No need to. High-end labels like to keep their product moving through authorized channels. Decoding is a sign that you bought the bottle through unauthorized channels. The gray market, this is called.

Well, I am yet to try some scents because it's warm as fuck here, but I would't say Segall & Barutti makes challenging frags. I could recommend Acqua Profumata for a high heat dumb reach and Vanilla & Fruits Rouges if the idea of smelling like Bob's strawberry milkshake appeals to you (although it's less cloying than it may sound). Scent of Hemp didn't impress me, and it doesn't smell like weed at all, at least nothing like a joint. Bergamote and Amber is nothing more nor less than what the name suggests. As I said Pure Oud wasn't challenging either, really uninteresting one. I can post impressions on the other ones as I wear them out.
The only other niche Brazilian brand I've tried is Sapientiae (some years ago when my nose was less trained) and although for the most part their summer line didn't catch my attention, I recall some of their winter ones being quite snice. I remember thinking there was something in common on most of the frags from the winter line, though (like there was a note the fragrances shared in common, if I had to guess I'd say it's their vanilla), so maybe it isn't worth it to buy more than one full bottle if you happen to like something. I'd say I liked Bergalicius and Heroin the most. Also keep in mind that I've only tried once or twice each frag from the winter line because they sent it to me by mistake (my actual order was the summer set) so I had to send it back to them - what a regret! The winter frags really smell better.

As for me, low humidity during the wintertime is the real problem. I just ordered a $300 air washer since my old one is broken. Because of heating radiators all over my house, I have 40% humidity and cannot smell half of the notes even if I bathe myself in perfume. I also have dry skin and hydrate it with CeraVe daily. Nonetheless, during the winter, frags that are weaker than 0.7-0.8 Interlude have low performance/longevity/silliage. I honestly do not understand how Californians buy any perfume at all, I saw once the 16% humidity in LA in January.

Those are the ones I’m strongly considering. The YSL smells the best but I’m worried about performance.

The funniest part was the guy he was going off on wasn’t even the Navitus guy, I am. I bought Virtus for the memes, never expected much, and all I ever said was that it was decent and wondered why it wasn’t on Fragrantica yet. Don’t even know what point that video was trying to make, we’ve all known from the start that it was made by Saudi investors.

Based Schizo misses the mark again.

You're all right. Deep down inside I don't give a shit about Navitus. It doesn't matter whether he bought it for the memes or not. The only thing that matters is that what I say triggers him. He is basically stuffing himself with my bait...all the healthy people have already been telling them to ignore me....yet he can't help himself. I'm specifically targeting his insecurities that make him want to prove and defend himself against me...a random nobody. Now if this isn't sad and pathetic I don't know what is. He's a glutton for punishment.

One of the advantages of living in a rich western society is the ability flaunt your wealth with conspicuous consumption. The more Adventus costs the more desirable it will be. It being a waste of money is actually a positive.
