I am saying that discontinuing the detroit seems like a strange move so it could be some "new coke shit." In the 80s coke discontinued regular coke and introduced "new coke" which no one liked. I work in a thrift shop and quite often we get a bunch of unworn workwear with tags that has company logos on it.
It's more common to get it in that condition than used because the worker will typically wear it into a state where no one would ever buy it.
(It does get donated like that too. Majority of all clothing donations go to rags because they're shit.)
