Tried Dodo today, like it a lot more than I did Dragonfly. It's definitely fougere-esque with the fern notes and the geranium, but I wouldn't call it a fougere. It's very fruity (lychee) and got a sea mist thing going on (ambergris). I was a bit taken aback by my first sniff but its growing on me for sure.

I am trying Invasion Barbare right now and its powderiness is interesting. It is definitely distinct from the usual powderiness from iris, and this seems to come from the cardammon + thyme combination. The vanilla and ginger make it rounder, but I still am not sure about it. But maan the ginger on the way out is satisfying.
Are the busts on their special bottles someone in particular? When I think of a barbarian invasion, I can only think of Alaric and Odoacer, but the figure doesn't look like either. Almost looks like Caracalla from the meme.

I think I made a mistake. While I was waiting for Invasion Barbare to dry down and evolve, I decided to also do 1 tiny spray of L'Air du Desert Marrocain on my other arm. Claude: IFRA: a big pain in the neck, and yes, the origin of many frustrations. I have lost because of IFRA one of the fragrances to which Luca Turin had given five stars, Francis Kurkdjian’s Enlèvement au Sérail that I had to discontinue for it did not meet IFRA’s latest demands (too much oakmoss and some other ingredients, attempts to reformulate the scent never allowed to find the same depth and velvety quality. Mercifully, Chypre Palatin has never been a problem, and as you know, has never had to be reformulated.
So he admits openly that he had to retire a perfume due to IFRA restrictions because he didn't want to loose quality but people still assume that he did some cunning reformulation of Chypre Palatin, too? This doesn't add up.

Emotionally ambivalent with introverted mood trend, the perfume users in this group reject hectic, unsettled or dynamic life. They have a strong need for protection and security. Characteristic attitudes and behavior patterns of this group include:
A desire to plan carefully and on a long-range basis – In the event of illness, they would always have the diagnosis confirmed by a second opinion – A secure job that offers only average earnings is preferable to a short, yet high paying job – Whenever possible, they avoid conflicts – They enjoy having people around them who can offer them security, but without disturbing the rhythm of their own lives. Their desired lifestyle necessitates a firm financial foundation. They have strong preference for collecting valuable items.

An “emotionally stable” mood does not represent an independent, typical fragrance need. Should, however, the perfume user select the brown/yellow/green colour rosette in conjunction with any other colour rosette for Groups A to G, it is an indication that they are looking for the fragrance direction indicated by the group, but in a particularly straight-forward, uncomplicated form. Combinations of various groups indicate a combination of the corresponding fragrance needs.

>Emotionally Ambivalent
As a result of their basic psychological make-up, these perfume users are highly sensitive and have finely developed feelings. Their moods are ambivalent. Day-dreams and romantic, sentimental fantasies from a firm part of their reality. The way in which they experience life manifests itself in their characteristics attitudes and behaviour patterns:
Sometimes, they are ready to conquer the world, while on other occasions, they cannot get up the energy to do any real work – They reject everything that is too sober and rational – They enjoy dreaming about things that cannot possibly even come true – An aversion to having their moods and feelings restricted – They enjoy cozy evening at home with lights dimmed. Their desired lifestyle does not display any uniform traits. Their interest in fashionable new trends is appeased by emotional ties to old artifacts that they have grown to love.

>Emotionally stable with introverted mood trend
The perfume users in this group are engaged in a search for well-balanced emotional state. As a result of their personality make-up, they are neither predominantly quiet and introverted nor highly dynamic and lively. And last but not the least, their desire for self-control also manifests in their characteristic attitudes and behaviour patterns toward themselves and their environment:
Care is taken to avoid overstepping their bounds with respect to others – They value a certain social level in those around them – Their search for a well-balanced emotional state, they feel, is not made any easier by their environment – They would not let themselves go in the presence of others – even when they are alone, they like to eat at a carefully set table. The lifestyle desired by this group is life in the fast lane; they love everything that is elegant, special and precious.

They love competition with other males and must have clear understanding of who belongs where in the hierarchy (career progression in big banking has a stupidly simple one - analyst, associate, vp, md, c-suite/partner) and means of assessing their position within a given tier (that’s actually the main reason behind bonuses; it’s not about money it’s about signalling who’s doing better than). eau du merveilles sounds awesome to me, i would gravitate towards the ambre version first tho. I smelled almost all of Papillon range in Les Senteurs. Anubis was just too much for me, I really disliked it. That being said Tauer 02 LADM is one of my favourite orientals and I would never call it less wearable than Anubis. Keep in mind that I only tested it on a paper-strip and was judging what was likely only the very opening of it for few first minutes. Maybe on your skin it works wonders idk. I remember testing Salome, too. If Zootopian Hyrax is a fecal scent, then Salome is the smell of being closed in a privy where a whole pluto of dirty and smelly soldiers had taken shits one after another.

I am very conflicted. The violet in GIT does come off a bit like gasoline, but nothing like fahrenheit. I always thought that CW was rather green, but GIT is much more so. CW feels like walking on a grassy field, while GIT feels like a humid florest.
The opening of the two is very different, but after a few minutes they start to get very similar. Green Irish Tweed is more complex, but also more timid than Cool Water.
