NSU are a special uniform, not a working uniform. It's more formal than your usual NWU or FRV, also NSU isn't all black, it's a brown and black or brown and brown, and uncomfortable as fuck.

No shit green camo is pointless in space & in most mid east environs. It's not actually about blending in anymore, but about being recognizably a part of the military. If we went to war in a situation we actually could fully lose, yeah, we'd use camo relevent to the local terrain. However, it's legit more of a priority to uphold the ideas surrounding the military than to "blend in", because "blending in" almost never comes into play in recent campaigns, but morale and public opinion does.

Sailors in the field get to wear discount MARPAT (or actual MARPAT as corpsmen iirc), but the zero-chance-of-combat ones wear this unless it's a service uniform (business attire) day because it hides oil stains apparently. I would've opted for solid navy/black/gray pieces desu.

It's irrelevant with the space force since none of them will actually go anywhere though, especially not space. My guess is they're going with OCP because most of the Space Force is being shifted over from other branches and all they have to do is swap out the patches and nametapes.
