Patrician-tier choice. I've studied skin health for years, and use that exact HA product every day.

I'd advise staying away from the derma rollers - they're actually counter-intuitive if not cleaned completely after each use. You're implanting oil and bacteria each subsequent use.

My stack:

After showering with a mild foaming cleanser.
1. Vitamin C serum (I use mad hippy brand - beware the cheapest ones on amazon, they're all fake reviews).
2. Hyaluronic acid that you posted
3. Snail cream under the eyes after the ha has dried
4. Paula's choice daytime SPF (my holy grail product) or Cerve PM moisturizer at night

I've had zero response to diffiren/retinol, and can't really fit AHA/BHA into my routine. Instead, I use over the counter chemical peels every so often on the weekend. (more often in the winter). Pores absolutely cleared, face completely clear.

This stack was the result of years of trial and error. I am routinely told that I look like a 25 year old (I'm 38)

Warning: Gross picture. Can't spoiler pictures. I've been using CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser

and CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30

https://www.skincarisma.com/products/cerave/am-facial-moisturizing-lotion-broad-spectrum-spf-30

I wash my face twice a day and moisturize twice a day in the morning and evening. What can I do about the reddening on the edge of the eye, the bumpy texture and pores under the eye, and the (sebaceous filaments?) on the chin? I'm new so I don't know what these things are exactly. The moisturizer gives my face a greasy sheen so I may ditch it, or I may be using too much.

It's not going to help with scars. The thing people actually use it for is getting rid of post-acne erythema. I have a bottle of CORSX snail mucin, can't say it's helping me yet after a month of use, though erythema can take up to a year to clear up so my expectations are probably too early. At this point it seems more like a liquid moisturizer or just a humectant.
>>14897508
Wouldn't having other liquid products placed before or moisturizing right after alleviate any need to apply HA on a wet face? Applying wet seems to break the order of application as some products (like BHA or AHA) are meant to be used on a face that has just been cleansed and with nothing prior, having HA on breaks that.

I suggest adding some exfoliation to your routine. Read up on chemical and physical exfoliation. Your breakouts seem more pronounced on your chin. If you shave quite frequently, it might be more prone to bacterial buildup. Judging by its appearance, your chin might benefit from some salicylic acid. Direct salicylic acid is commonly sold in a 2% concentration, which is where you can start. If you haven't used direct acids on your skin before, introduce it slowly (ex. once every three days)

For the face and neck, I like HolikaHolika's Lazy-N-Easy all in one toner/moisturizer for general/quick use, especially if it's going to be cold and dry outside. I use Laneige Cream Toner/moisturizer after I shower, washing my face 5 days a week with just dove sensitive skin body wash and 2 days a week with a Sheseido Deep Cleansing and Exfoliating Scrub.

For full body use, I generally use Nature Republic Aloe Gel Moisturizer on the majority of my body, with Palmer's Tummy Butter for any stretch-mark prone areas such as around my groin (I have bad elastin genes unfortunately leading to massive tiger-stripe stretch marks, ugh), stomach, and my elbows and knees. since starting this regimen I have noticed marked differences in my overall appearance, acne prevalence, and especially when it comes to my fucking marks.

24 with the same problem. Here's what I'm trying for now:
>tretinoin (lots of studies backing up this being a legitimately effective wrinkle reducer, especially the longer you use it), 0.5% strength every day
>microneedling with hyularonic acid serum and a 1.5 mm dermapen once a month
>lots of moisturizer and sunscreen
>an additional retinol product (RoC Deep Wrinkle Filler)
Seems to be working somewhat. I'm still going through the tretinoin purge, but I have faith in it because of shit like pic related (60-year-old woman who's been using tret for 28 years; I've seen lots of similar results floating around the Internet). Anyone have any products that help with excess oil during the day?
I work in a toasty environment with lots of bright lights all day and by the middle of the day my face is oily and red.
I'm considering adding some sort of powdered sunscreen to apply during the day (or other powder product).
I've changed my routine countless times with a lot of new products but my skin remains the same during the day.
What am I doing wrong?
I usually just use some water to cleanse in the morning, then save the cleanser (Krave Matcha Hemp) for evening in the shower (unless I shower in the morning), Nature Republic Aloe Vera Soothing Gel, and then Sunscreen (forgot brand).

Stop eating sugars and bread and stop drinking coffee which pulls much needed trace minerals from your body.

I'd say avoid eating multiple grams of added MSG like in the study, that's a huge amount. But it's naturally occuring in decent amounts in bone broth, celery, seaweed and mushrooms which you mentioned. Anecdotally I'd say added msg could make you fatter just because it makes food taste a bit better so you eat more.

>What counts as cleaning?
without technical jargon: using cleansers, different kinds of soap, shampoo, et c that makes it easier for oils and other superficial skin components to carried away with water. cleaning is the step that causes the most issues for people with dry and/or sensitive skin.
it can facilitate water loss in the skin, make your skin less pliable and soft, disrupt its barrier functions, and irritate it and aggravate inflammation. this is true even for well-designed product formulations.
that's why I recommend less washing, as other products can achieve the same approximate goals (mainly using exfoliators) without ruining the skin too much. you may want to still use a cleanser regularly, but to a limited extent (smaller amount, diluted, et c). it's just good to know that daily cleaning isn't mandatory.

I have moderate acne. I went to a derm and got a script for bactrim which I'm going to be starting soon (currently on minocycline for the last 1.5 years and using it with epiduo gel, which mostly prevents whiteheads forming but doesn't actually make the red marks go away). Any advice or thoughts on this? She gave me the option of accutane which I would take if I knew it would work with no problems but considering the shit I've read about it causing suicide, depression etc I kind of want to stay away from it, or at least until I start getting desperate.

I would just go on the 'tane now that she has offered it. I understand the sketchy possible side effects but accumulating even more scarring would probably outweigh them, especially psychologically. It's not like antibiotics and epiduo don't have their own side effects too. Considering you've been on antibiotics and epiduo for that long, accutane just seems that much more obvious of a choice.

I've been taking care of my skin (and getting older) and i'm looking/feeling much better.

Current Routine:
>Oil Cleansing (can't type Kanji, but its Japanese)
>Cera Ve foaming cleanser
>Paula Choice BHA (spray for body, work some into my nose because SF)
>Cera Ve Moisturizing Cream
>Nivea Super Water Gel (SPF50) for Body
>Biore UV Watery Essence (SPF50) for Face
>Lanolin for lip balm

My current issues:
> Bacne, mainly on my shoulders and top of back. Trying changing body wash right now, if no work, gonna try changing detergent for clothes. Funnily enough, getting sunburned on my back cleared it up nicely, maybe its a Vitamin D thing? idk.

> Sebaceous Filaments: Tons of black dots on my nose. Oil Cleansing has helped, and i've just started the BHA.

Is there anything else y'all can recommend? I'm going off what SCA says rn but perhaps theres something i'm missing.

I can't tell you what it is specifically besides "angry pimple" but I've had those before. It'll heal up. Clinique is shit and overpriced. I don't think you need salicylic acid in multiple products. You need a daily retinoid like Adapalene in your routine. LaRouche-Posay's 45g tube was the best price per unit on Amazon last I checked. I use that together with Cetaphil's daily cleanser, CeraVe's daily moisturizing lotion, and The Ordinary's 10-minute AHA + BHA (the red stuff) for a twice a week exfoliator has been doing great for me. I'm also using Paula's Choice 5% benzoyl peroxide treatment, but it's pretty drying and I don't know if I can give it my approval yet. If you want to use benzoyl peroxide definitely just stick to a 2.5% gel.

If you do nothing else, just get on Adapalene and make an appointment with a dermatologist or your primary care physician.
