Lighting is too harsh
Dingy beige paint looks like years of tobacco staining rather than a deliberate color choice
Cable management is nonexistant
Single recliner rather than a loveseat or something heavily implies he doesn't expect or want company, which is fine but not conducive to inviting women over.

quite cozy but a little impractical, seems like a temporary setup what with the mirror leaning against the wall, mattress directly on floor etc. Also seems like an older building but that arguably is the reason it's cozy. The vibe of this image makes me want to drink tea and rest my cup on a doily while oil painting.

cable management can be better, thankfully the majority of it is not visible in the shot.

This has very cozy vibes though, it's very modern and actually feels like 2020. The excessive amount of plants are really what helps it from feeling like a harsh gamer den, though.

That said I wish there were some musical instruments or art supplies or something present- this guy just listens to lofi hip hop and plays videogames.

I find it odd when people collect garbage books. My parents have hundreds of completely terrible books nobody will ever read again. However, I currently have a small collection of books I have bought myself and which I very much intend to read again or at the very least encourage others to borrow from me. I also have some non fiction books and short story collections which I read periodically.
I find it annoying when I am given trashy books as a gift since it reminds me of the shelves in my parents home filled with junk, and I don't wish to keep them with my books that I like having.

Also stop using that xbox for games and start a movie collection. While we're at it, this tv is too fucking tiny for that space. At least put the nyc wallpaper behind it since that's gonna be the spot people would focus on.
>projector?
If you're a pseud (see >>14904339), yes. If you actually care about picture quality, go get a 4k OLED or QLED. It's 2020, we're soon gonna be playing 4k blu-rays on our PS5's. Projectors are only good for when you have a shit ton of people at your house watching a sports game.

seeing that apartment always makes me angry that someone gets to live like that

>> No.14918648

>a pair of black FILA steel-toed faux-leather work shoes, and a pair of black Nike running shoes.
>a casio watch
>20 pairs of black store brand crew socks.
>8 pairs of black compression shorts.
>8 pairs of black store brand brand cotton sweatpants,
>8 pairs of indigo Champion polyester mesh shorts.
>11 gray store brand cotton t-shirts.
>4 hoodies: 2 are indigo, 1 is black, the other is gray.
>3 towels
>a pressure cooker
>a mini-fridge
>a quilt
>a plastic gallon jug of water
>a black duffel bag and a black climbing rucksack (I don't climb)
>a pair of 5lb dumbbells, and a jump rope
>the laptop I'm posting this on
Those are my possessions. I live like a cheapskate down to my water bills. I don't intend to live in an apartment forever anyway, so it's not like it's a big deal. I can read any book I want, watch any movie or show I want, browse any internet site I want, all from a laptop of the late 2000s.

The only thing I have that I would leave behind is the vacuum duster that I clean the hardwood floors with because it's cumbersome as hell

Lots of potential. And not bad as it is. Get a much larger rug, consolidate the audio and tv into a cohesive media console, improve the lighting. I'd put a large houseplant where the chair is.

First off, it makes moving easier since you don't have a bunch of furniture to take. Second, you don't know the layout of your next place so it would be better to buy furniture once you get there and can play it all out. Third, save your money while you can so you can get better furniture later. Fourth, I have misspelled furniture every time I have typed it so far, I keep hitting the n before the r.
