You should turn on a fan point to the other direction, turn your back to it and do the lightest spray possible backwards. The particles of the fragrance will eventually reach you on reasonable amounts.

Yes, but answering seriously. The sprayer is basically creates a vacuum that will suck the fragrance into the tube and release it once you remove your finger. The faster you press the spray, the higher the force pushint the liquid out will be, creating the desireable cloud. If you do it slowly, the liquid will simply accumulate and slowly exit throught the hole. A proper half spray would be pressing the sprayer less than all the way down. However, this is very tricky, as every sprayer has a deadzone and that is normally a rather delicate movement to coordinate. Using a fabric like you mentioned can work, but you need to do it rather quickly, before the solvent of the fragrance evaporates. I guess absorbing fabrics like cotton and microfiber would work the best.

I sprayed on Beaufort 1805 Tonnerre. Closest thing I have smelled to this is Trex. But it is still very different. Sharp lime, really really sharp. Sharpest I have smelled its like practically squirting lime juice on you.Very smokey with both smoke and gunpowder accord. Ive shot a lot of guns this smells like an older spent cartridge not a fresh shot one or a smoking barrel or anything which sucks because thats what I was hoping for. Lots of marine notes...Ironically, oh wow I cant believe Im saying this but this absolutely has a creed millesime imperial smell. Like its trex blended with MI. I am totally getting MI. The marine notes and the lime are very similar just missing the other fruit. I do get some woods/pine and very light rum, but very light. The only thing people are going to notice is the gunpowder/smoke and saltwater lime they will never be close enough to pick up the other nuances unless they are hugging/holding you. Its like trex, artistic but not "wearable" save your 150 dollars but its an interesting smell. I would like to try others from the line though. This might have the potential to grow on me but my space for "unwearable art" is limited

Sampled Dior Eau Sauvage Cologne after heavily wearing the Parfum in colder weather. Was expecting more of a similar profile but I'm disappointed. The smell is okay and reminds me of a sharper/sour citrus Grey Vetiver in the dry down. I dont think I'll pick up a bottle.

Roja is an interesting case to me. I do feel like there’s a bit of hipsterdom at work here, because a few years ago, his scents were mostly beloved here. No one was really talking about them, just me and this one other dude who had a bottle of Haute Luxe he got from his sister. I’d just started getting people to sample Enigma, and it was overwhelmingly well received. In recent years, though, his stuff has become more popular here, and I’ve noticed quite a few people starting to say that his stuff is overrated, mediocre, etc.

To me, I think many of his frags aren’t worth the money, but he has a few absolute masterpieces. I’m not a fan of most of his main line scents, but I think Enigma is genuinely one of the very best orientals, and one of the very best men’s fragrances in general, ever made. I also think Elysium is best in class (at least the parfum version), out of the “blue” scents. However, blue scents being relatively simplistic and common, I’m not sure it’s worth the price tag, but I got mine cheap so I’m ok with it. I also think a lot of his more obscure scents are great. I love Fruity Aoud, it’s similar-ish to Amouage Jubilation, but even better in my opinion. I also love A Midsummer Dream, which I copped in Amsterdam last time.

I feel that because Roja is a bit of a showman himself, and the rather... ostentatious bottles, a lot of people are inclined to think that he’s peddling gaudy shit for Arabs with too much money. While I know he does market to the Middle Eastern consumer, I do feel like there’s still enough substance behind his work to be worthwhile. Just my opinion, of course. I agree that some of his stuff is very overpriced for what it is, but I think you really need to try everything before you judge his work. There are some really, really good scents in his portfolio.

I have the rest of the day off so Im just chilling now. Broke my autism code of one frag at a time and sprayed Zoologist squid on the other arm. thought it could be a fun video gimmick of kraken(squid) vs pirate ship (1805 tonnere). Squid is entirely not what I expected. Not nearly as salty as people said not nearly as salty as 1805. Its just dark blue water in my mind. The incense really makes it a strange dark water. It smells like how Id expect some pirates of the Caribbean mermaid/treasure cove to smell. I dont know if I really like it or if its a pass. Really weird I wasnt prepared for it to smell like this. One of the least salty of the marine frags ive smelled but undeniably marine. Could be a buy Ill have to mull it over for a couple wears. Definitely more flexible and wearable than 1805.

I have the EDP, which I believe is now discontinued in favor of the new Cologne. The EDP and Extrait are essentially identical, but the Extrait lasts longer. I get 8-10 hours easily from the EDP, though, so I felt the Extrait is unnecessary. Now that the EDP is gone, though, the Extrait might be the better choice. Haven’t smelled the Cologne yet, but I hear it’s much lighter.

As far as Squid goes, I have it and love it. I feel it does smell quite salty in the opening, almost reminds me a bit of Vegemite, if you’ve ever smelled that stuff, for the first 10 minutes or so. After that, I agree, there isn’t much salt. It becomes more of a spicy-woody-marine thing with that inky incense not in the background. Very interesting stuff.

I think when he tries to pander to whatever the flavor of the month is, we get mediocrity, but his more out there scents are great. To me, though, overpriced and mediocre are different things. I’ve been revisiting Virtus today. I still think it smells kinda like CK One Shock, but not as much as I previously did. I’m getting a lot more of the spices and resins now. The opening reminded me of something and I figured out what it is. It reminds me quite a bit of Slumberhouse Kiste. Spicy, dusty tobacco, honey, and the mango note kind of replicates the apricot in Kiste. Same dense, syrupy kind of scent.

Gotta give it to /ourcuck/, it’s actually a decent scent and certainly much more niche than Jerememe’s offerings. Still maybe a bit overpriced, but honestly not bad.

Still has an uncucked formula with real oakmoss and generates miasmas.
