Sometimes you just want a certain watch and there is no alternative so people go for that. I got my zeppelin before i had any clue about watches. I saw it and i liked it. Actually the parts Rolex outsourced was very well known since the firms that made them were huge. They had to be to keep up with production. However Rolex have in the last 15 years or so either bought those firms or simply built their own.
