I'm a total shit piece who didn't notice that that last thread was almost dead, so I'm going to repost this in the hopes of getting more recs:

I ordered a sex doll (pic related) and wanted to get some perfumes for her that would complete the experience. Alcohol will straight out melt the material these dolls are made out of, so I started looking into knockoff oil perfumes, both because they're cheaper and because they should be safer for the doll to use.

The thread I was in before mentioned not to try the oil perfumes, but I did anyways. I put an order of 13 1ml bottles of various feminine-ish perfumes from APO, and so far I really am glad I did this. They weren't all winners, and I knew they wouldn't be -- Musk Rose and Baccarat Rouge 540 were absolutely disgusting to my nose -- but there were some great standouts. Do Son and Coco Mademoiselle smell just like what I thought I wanted, girly, fresh, a bit sophisticated, but active and energetic. Ambre Sultan blew me away with just how fucking COMFY it was, and I'm honestly considering buying a bottle of that on my next order just for personal use because goddamn that is maximum overcomf. And Boadicea's Empire... that, let me tell you, that makes my peepee the big peepee. That shit just drives me wild.

Preliminary tests indicate that the oil perfumes are safe to use with the TPE material dolls are made out of, too, which is good. My doll isn't here yet (tracking info says she arrives Wednesday), but I have a sex toy made of the same material and putting a liberal application of oil on it did absolute bupkis to the material. I'll repeat the test on my doll when she gets here, and if I get the same result I intend to put another order out, probably from APO, with a bigger bottle of Empire and Ambre Sultan, and a bunch more 1ml samples to try.

What feminine-smelling scents would folks recommend I sample? So far I've tried APO versions of the following:

Empire by Boadicea (10/10)
Do Son by Diptyque (9/10)
Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel (8.5/10)
Ambre Sultan by Serge Lutens (9/10)
Ambre Nuit by Christian Dior (8/10)
Chance Eau Fraiche by Chanel (7/10)
No. 22 by Chanel (5/10)
White Suede by Tom Ford (8/10 until it overloads my nostrils and then 1/10)
Highness Rose by Montale (6/10)
Musk Rose by Montale (3/10)
Angel by Thierry Mugler (7/10)
Baccarat Rouge by MFK (1/10)
Mojave Ghost by Byredo (??? / 10, the fuck is even happening with this scent I don't understand it)

There's nothing that comes to my mind. It's obviously a chypre, so it shares the structure with citrusy and zesty opening, flowery heart notes and deep masculine base with many other fragrances (including Pour Monsieur) but Chypre Palatin is so unique and complex in its execution that nothing comes close. Someone in one of the past threads said that it's like listening to a symphony orchestra and I can't agree more.

Is Etat Libre d'Orange the most overrated niche house? The only good frag they have released is Fat Electrician (worth buying, for sure), but everything else is a meme (Secretions Magnifiques), decent but doesn't last shit (Cologne) or just completely unremarkable.

Let's update this chart. It's fairly good but it needs some refreshment as some of the stuff here is mislabeled, discontinued, showing too much of personal biases of the author or even obscure. The structure is great and descriptions are good too, let's just update content to make it more relevant and helpful. We can maybe add a new 'uncoventional' category. I'd suggest following assumptions
>we keep the structure of 4 frags in each subgroup
>for each supgroup we decide upon 1 relatively cheap and accesible fragrance - <$1/ml if possible, so the chart is helpful for everyone
>2 mid-priced fragraces between $1 and $2.5 per ml, so we can have interesting and varied choices
>1 more expensive >$2.5 per ml (if needed), so we can have snice niche things
>we pick only well-rated things as recommendations and try to give the priority to frags that are widely discussed in the community and of well deserved status
>while we obviously try to make choices as eponymous of the subgroup as possible, there's no point of having fragrances smelling virtually the same or clones - like Aventus and CDNI

Let's start with an easy one.
>Fresh Citrus
>Mugler Cologne
>AdP Colonia
>Neroli Portofino
Imo these three are quite good. Not sure about Atelier. Any suggestions?

>or should I just find a scented body wash?
No, it is completely different. Fragances project your smell, while body washes only stay in your skin. Because of this, fragances need to be much nicer, of course.
However, even within your description of being a "college student who uses casual clothes" it is still rather hard to recommend something. Most people here will tell you to have at least 3 fragances, being one general daytime fragance (Ex: acqua di gio profumo), one nighttime/date fragance (Ex: Bleu de Chanel, Dior Homme Intense, Stronger with you) and one formal fragance (almost anything by prada). There are also fragaces made to attract women, such as Versace Eros and Jean Paul Gautier Ultramale, but some of these can actually make your male peers angry due to how men smell some of their notes. Well, at least I get angry everytime i smell a guy wearing JGP le male...

With Le Male's case, if i spray it on a paper and smell it i get a bit irritated since it reminds me of coitus. Definitely not something i want to smell on another man, but something that women definitely like and that is not that bad on my own skin. It most certainly doesn't have to do with familiarity, but rather due to their bubblegummy nature, although it may only be a few dozen spergs like me who feel that way, i don't know. These would usually fall into the category of obnoxious, anyways.
It seems to me that a fresh, citrusy clean fragance is what you are looking for. Out of the top of my head i can recommend Acqua di Gio Profumo, that new bvlgari Wood Neroli and Cool Water are afforable options, although more suited for the warmer parts of the year. >FRESH AQUATIC
>All fresh scents are cooling – but nothing is more refreshing and invigorating on a hot day than water. Gifted perfumers can actually make fresh aquatic fragrances seem positively icy, or just dew-drenched, or simply conjure up the fragrance of just-washed linen. Fragrances in this family are also sometimes referred to as ‘ozonic’, and tend to showcase synthetic ingredients. There’s no way naturally to capture the smell of mountain air, or a sea breeze – so sometimes a technique called headspace technology is used, to conjure up and recreate those smells.

What we've got on chart:
>Heeley Sel Marin

It's quite snice but that's definitely not the best scent out of Bond house. I'd rather include New Haarlem, I love NY or Scent of Peace later on and make a place for Acqua di Sale which is completely different take on aquatics than everything in this group.
Personally, I'd go for the following 4 here:
>Aqua di Gio - £0.5/ml
>Heeley Sel Marin - £1.3/ml
>Profumum Roma Acqua di Sale - £2.2/ml
>Creed Millésime Impérial - £3.0/ml (or maybe Virgin Island Water but I think MI is better)

We're almost done with a draft for the Fresh group. Any suggestions for Fresh Fruity?
>FRESH FRUITY Fruity notes have been all the fragrance rage for some years now. The fresh category was always zestily juicy with fruit notes – traditionally citrus, in the past. But today, lusher fruits – including mango, peach, melon, pineapple and berries – are being blended into scents, softening the freshness with a light yet sensual touch of summery sweetness.
I have a bit of problem with this one (it's also quite late) as all fruity frags that come to my mind fall rather under either chypre fruity, floral fruity or wood fruity groups. Any ideas?

Roma Uomo is one of my favorites. It's creamy fruity with a woody pine touch. Smells like an orange creamsicle with some bay leaves, pine, vanilla and sandalwood. In the same family of oriental fougeres as Le Male and such but pretty different as it has much more of a mediterranean feel.

>Osmanthus Ormonde Jayne
But that's not Fresh Fruity but Floral Fruity 100% and we should move it there.
>Cio Cio San MDCI Parfums
That's a women's frag and it also seems to be miscategorized. I can go to Jovoy and smell it but I'm almost sure it's also rather Floral Fruity.
>Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune
That's rather fresh aromatic.
>Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay
That's a good one. I'd keep it together with Orange Sanguine. We need 2 more though.

I remember smelling it for the first time in Amsterdam 4 or 5 years ago it was a nuclear complex bomb that was making everyone turn their heads. Now it's just a smoky oudy thingy that many other niche perfumers do better: Carner's Cuirs, Les Liquides' Fortis, LM's Black Oud. You're late to the game I'm afraid my friend.

Anon who found a cheap Gucci Pour Homme ii locally here. It arrived this morning and I got to test it out a bit today. Unfortunately it was the last bottle available so I couldn't get more so I've decided to keep it for myself. I quite like it though it's not what I was expecting. I haven't reached the dry down properly because I applied Jimmy Choo Man Intense at a store so they were layered around my body and clothing. Apparently the GPHii still came past the fresh JCMI even though it's such a light scent. It is really odd. JCMI is really strong on my skin.

Out of curiosity: How is Hanae Mori HiM and Bvlgari Pour Homme Soir in comparison with the tea note?

I'd say it was saved by the anons posting/rating each other's collections, and of course by the anon who undertook the challenge to rewrite the OP's chart, and everyone who's helping him. Keep it up guys! Your work will not go unappreciated.

Should we have a designer chart and a niche chart?

>> No.14816616

>>14816610
that would be awesome, yeah, but is it maybe too ambitious? Will we finish it? Because I'm definitely more into trying exploring niche stuff.

Both on one, perhaps starting with the cheapest and ascending to the most expensive. Have columns for each category, a nice image in each column to represent it (leather, citrus, rose etc) and the a picture of the bottle and basic information about it over the top. In my head it looks lovely.

I can almost see it.
Yeah, this anon is right, both options should be present in the same chart.

That would be nice. Anyway we should get as many ideas niche or not for every category. We can think of arranging this data into charts later on.
