AQ is more of a meme honestly. Its an excellent fresh fougere and “proto-aquatic” scent but for the uninitiated it will probably just smell like Axe. The perfumers of AQ are responsible for the new “blue” ambroxan trend as well and pretty much plagiarize it with every new release but it’s nothing groundbreaking. I prefer the scent to Cool Water currently but can concede CW is by far the superior fragrance.

Azzaro PH is much different. It’s the second aromatic fougere in the “main arc” of dihydromyrcenol laden fougeres and probably the most highly regarded by the ivory tower noses like Luca Turin. It smells like basic aftershave at first, but lasts all day and keeps changing, incredible depth and richness. Rive Gauche is pretty much a redone version of Azzaro PH.

Tuxedo sample fag here. Wore it today, 3 sprays from a 10ml atomizer. It's very nice. Sweet but it has a waxy note to keep it from being cloying and the drydown I'd pretty woody to my nose which is great. Not getting the same By the Fireplace vibes as the other night, but I am getting some Layton feels. Only thing is I'm not super impressed with the performance. I've seen recommendations on other boards for other purposes to skip buying traditional perfumes that are sold at enormous markups due to packaging and advertising budgets and just buy reverse engineered concentrated "perfume oils" from websites like this:

Just got my 5ml sample of pic related and I must say that I'm really, really positively surprised. It's probably one of the best ambers for the price (£65 only). Benzoins are not cloying, Eucalyptus gives it a sharp bitter balance and amber is really good here. I just layered it with Memo Winter Palace and together with tea and citruses from Memo it smells really glorious. Very high on this stuff and might cop a bottle. I'll try to layer it with Opus VI, too.

Just got home from work and opened up my package with PRPH.

It's just like I remember, very similar to Kouros in all honesty but missing that civet/incense combo which makes Kouros so simultaneously sleazy and timeless. Whereas Kouros has an unapologetic arcane mystical power vibe which could be equally suited to an ancient Greek hero or an 80s Patrick Bateman type character, Paco Rabanne PH is much more down to earth and wearable by pretty much anybody. Kouros is not the type of fragrance I would wear to work, but this is. It's extremely fresh and soapy so maybe even suited to somebody like >>14784772 this guy,

As far as comparisons to Azzaro PH, they're pretty close but not as close as I remember. Azzaro has a noticeable anise and caraway which veers the composition in a spicier direction. The anise is cooling but plays off the lavender in a way that reminds of hairspray or shampoo. Paco Rabanne uses rosemary, honey, and cloves instead and smells more realistically like shaving cream. PRPH also has a much more noticeable dihydromyrcenol and APH, just like frompyrgos said. Overall, I'd recommend this shit, it's a perfectly functional everyday type of fresh frag. I wouldn't put an age on it like these daddysmells faggots are doing. If you like smelling like you just shaved and put on clothes fresh out of the laundry it's for you. If you wanna piss off TDH wearing wagecuck nancyboys it's also a good choice. AQposter out, gonna shower then put on a bit more
