Winter coats are one area where it is extremely worthwhile to go second-hand.
eg. Second-hand market is pretty bad in my country but I still got a charcoal crombie wool overcoat for like $20AUD. It looks new, I doubt the previous owner wore it much at all.

I had the exact hat made from last best west. it's a good replica but the stitching on the bound edge is not very straight. Not the quality I expected for the money. Otherwise a good hat.

For the jacket, I went with a surplus French army mackinaw. They made copies of the US late war jeep jacket. Sometimes you can find US copies with the fleece too, but usually they're just blanket-material. They also made them brown, closer match to the movie, but I never found one in my size in good condition.

The mack you linked is an old model and nobody will ever find it, except if they get lucky on ebay.

I bought this coat this season, from Brooks Brothers. It's alpaca wool and it has a removable alpaca "fur" collar. The pattern is sort of a loose herringbone. It's super nice, I love it.

it's 70% polyester 30% wool so if feels cheap and shitty. it's also quite thin and has no lining, so unless you've got multiple layers underneath it wont actually keep you warm, god forbid it's windy out because it's drafty as fuck. basically it's as big a piece of shit as whoever stole my good jacket. I’m 6’ 4” and 80kgs (176lbs I think) and wear a XXL. It fits close, but with enough room for a couple of thick layers without feeling cramped. It’s also obscenely warm.

It looks good unwaxed, which is good because I’ve had mine almost three years and still haven’t put fresh wax on it. I’d say it’s boxiness is relative. To a classic Bedale or something it looks quite sleek, but to something else of a similar nature it might look more square. I’d love to own a Bedale (I live in the English countryside after all) but my tall and skinny frame doesn’t suit it, whereas the Corbridge still has the classic Barbour look without the comically square look.

What can you wear a long black sheepskin with? I honestly think it looks nice. Now I have a choice of the fur in either gray or brown, which one?
