I swear there is no handle to remove the damn spring bar on my jubilee skx007. Even went to a jeweler and he told me there is no way this could be removed except with cutters, but I'm tempted to get a second opinion. Apparently nobody on the internet is having this much trouble with theirs.

How do you become one of those guys who just wears the piss out of a single nice watch? You have those boomers who did/do everything with their Rolex. Diving, mountain climbing, fucking yard work, they don't care. I just can't imagine doing it, even though I want to. Why risk ruining something so nice? Is it me just being a poorfag/wagecuck? I like wearing a watch, but the inaccuracy of the mechanical watches really pisses me off. Even +2/-2 for the high-end pieces is bothering me too much. I seriously consider getting pic related as a daily. The size is 43 which I could live with, but I guess most people will call me retard for spending so much money on quartz/electronic watch.

Not because I think subs are worth the money (they're fucking not) but purely from a monetary perspective.

Last time I posted my fossil watch I rightfully got shafted and shat on by you guys- thanks for the honest feedback. It was a choose your own watch gift by my future wife who will let me choose any watch I want, but I don’t want her spending over $300 because we’re not that wealthy. I’m conscious of a few things: versatility for dressing up/down, size of my wrist and price.

Tl;dr wedding is coming up within a few weeks and I can get any watch I want. Granted, under $300.

Stowa and Laco are both pretty solid while remaining true to the Flieger heritage. If you're looking for something that still has that same sort of styling but that's also basically indestructible, I'd go Damasko.

None of them really retain any sort of value but pretty much all three are solid with Damasko being my favorite of the three, then Stowa before Laco. If you just want a well made watch that will last you a lifetime without worrying about whether it will have any resale value, you can't really go wrong with any of those three (Archimedes is also a good choice in that price range, also German made and with a decent history behind the brand).

It tanks the value of your shit because the original doesn't fucking actually matter beyond the history of it. Sure you could say because of the older manufacturing techniques that it's more valuable or whatever, but people want vintage watches primarily for the aesthetic that they bring. Nobody outside of an autistic group of people you could fit into an American commuter car actually is so enthusiastic about the original pieces that they wouldn't pay significantly less money if they could get a reissue which accomplishes pretty much everything they were looking at in the original while also retaining modern conveniences like a more modern movement and modern waterproofing/materials.

Watches are for wearing, not storing in a box so that you can bank your retirement on them later. You sound like the pleb, not the people who see a watch for more than just a thinly veiled gambling operation.
