Tbh I'm not a big fan myself. I tested BR540 and some of the Acquas the other day. 540 smelled like coca-cola and Acquas didn't last more than a couple of h on my skin. Now I ordered Oud Extraits and Grand Soir to possibly change my mind. I just think that it'd be good to have some discussion other than Erosposting mate. That's a good starter especially given how cheap the sample set is. I also shilled Xerjoff in the other thread and now realized that Jovoy Mayfair has a very good sampling program on very niche stuff - 2-3 quids for a 2ml sample. Would be cool if more people try that stuff. Pic related.

That's what you should be doing anyways. Realistically you can't judge more than 2-3 fragrances on one visit to a department store. First of all that's really not the best environment to smell anything with clouds of random fragrance molecules hanging around booths. Secondly, you really want to test fragrance on your skin for more than couple of hours. In dpt stores you basically just smell openings on the blotters. Also join some legit fragrance facebook groups. You can get very cheap decants and samples there.

The original L'Homme is really good stuff. The only one I like out of the whole L'Homme line. I got a 3ml bottle years ago from my ex-gf who told me that she wants her men smell like that. I've been keeping this bottle of it as the scent of choice when I need something safe, clean and quiet for professional occasions. Funnily enough, this other girl who was staying over at my place the other night at some point wanted to go over my frag collection saying that "I'm just like her father with all of these fragrances on my shelf". She meticulously went over every single bottle of my mostly niche collection and she didn't really say anything about any of them until she eventually smelled L'Homme. She had orgasmic reaction the second she opened it saying that it's sooo good. I sprayed her neck and hair couple of times saying that I want to her smell of it when we will fuck. It's always hot when a girl smells of your cologne.
To be honest L'Homme and Eau Sauvage Parfum are my most complimented fragrances by women by a margin.

Seconding you on your L'Homme input, maybe they should try the intense version as well, I quite like it, very masc.

I get that Sauvage is popular but to me the ambroxan (?) is obnoxious to the point of smelling like piss. I wear a lot of my frags for myself, so that's a major problem. I guess I'll go take my GF to try the YSL.

"hello, anon," he said, the voice so familiar, so resonating. it was kouros. for a long time already it had been nothing more than a voice in the dark, a voice that seemed to take shape in the shadows. "kouros," i said. "you've come a long way. are you tired," he asked. "no," i replied. "have you doused," he asked. before i could reply he stopped me. "i am the mist, anon... the atom. i am the rainbow that stands on the earth. there have been many sordid people but i chose you," he said. "i am arched in blood but i've been cleansed by you and i've become vivid again. they can see me now." i didn't understand. "i know you don't understand me, but you will... come douse," he said. i woke suddenly.

I really like Do Son by Diptyque and I bet you can find a middle ground of something that would have oriental and incense elements mixed with floral elements. The only ultra fem "soliflore" I've smelled from them is Eau Rose which was very pretty.

I'm gonna sell 4-5 bottles then I want to find an ambergris fragrance (99% sure it will be Encens Mythique) and an incense dominate fragance (probably La Liturgie des Heurres) and then Im done buying until a bottles empty.

We need more Olfactophiliac, that niche guy, weird and outsider. I think we got the rest covered.
I personally think there also needs to be another Zoologist/Zootopian frag in there but I'm not familiar with them, which one is the most popular here, Bat?
Also thought about adding a Vilhelm to that niche guy and maybe Portrait of a Lady.
Maybe add DIY (house)perfume to weird or outsider?

L'Artisan Parfumeur used to be discussed in these threads widely and they fit these levels imo. Put Tea for Two to Outsider, Timbuktu to Weird and Dzing! to "That" Niche Guy. We should a couple more ELDOs here, too. You can put Fat Electrician to Weird and La Fin Du Monde to Olfactophiliac. Imaginary Authors are another niche house that is memed here. A City On Fire is weird as fuck and I'd put it to Olfactophiliac and Cape Heartache to Weird for a balance.
I think that we should add "Luca Turin's saliva" to Detached from the social dogma for keks.

Slumberhouse has some great scents, but Josh absolutely is a massive faggot. Supposedly when he’s “creating”, he eats a vegan diet, abstains from sex, drugs, and drinking. He’s also occasionally suicidal and has nearly died from ODing a couple times. There were supposed to be like 4 new scents this year, but apparently the dipshit accidentally burned down his “studio”, and it takes him years to “perfect” a scent, so that’s not happening now. Also, he’s closed his own store because his stockists have inventory now and I guess he doesn’t want to be bothered shipping bottles. Also, we were supposed to get winter and summer rotations in his shop. Still haven’t seen that yet either.

I honestly kinda wish Slumberhouse was complete shit. Great scents, but Josh is just such a pain in the ass to deal with because of how flaky he is.
