Quartz chronographs are by far more accurate, and given the technology they can also be more precise. The issues come from actual timekeeping, synchronization between the pressing of buttons to the mechanism, the ability to read accurately off the dial, etc.

When 'Omega' is the official timekeeper of the Olympics, they're not using mechanical chronographs and haven't since the early 70's.

On the comparison, you won't find much if any info because it's a moot point, and no one would bother comparing the two.
