NB has some really good black models if you like suede and they are comfy because orthotics. For white I would go adidas stan smith if you want something low profile. If it has to be leather I would say CPs (you can find them at charity shops if you look hard enough) or greats royale if you don't want to spend 400. Royales are indestructable too so that's a nice bonus

I need some advice. I'm fairly new to sneakers. I only own a pair of cheap Air Max which I use as beaters, some Stan Smiths and some Ultra Boosts (which I love). Depends on how long you wear em. I can rock 93/17s all day but the other 2 boosts ultraboosts and inikis start sucking after like 6 hours. Super comfy at first but long term its annoying. Alphabounce i can rock all day. Think its like boost is more comfy to begin with but once it settles it sucks. Normal shoes or alphabounce stay the same the whole day. I bought a pair of Adidas Samba 7 or so years ago. The tongue squeaked against the upper as I walk. I tried scoring the leather or not tying so tight/looping differently but it keeps persisting.
The only option I found is to flip the tongue since it is so thin but it still ends up being uncomfortable and looks bad so I just tossed them in the closet and got something else.
The last pair of shoes my GF bought me are starting to fall apart and the only option I have without going out and buying new shoes are these.

i measured the length of my feet on paper, they're 11.5" or 29 cm. all the size charts say to use size 12 shoes, but i wear 11's usually but sometimes 10.5 (10 in doc martens). if i wore 12s in most shoes i feel like there'd be about an inch at the front of the shoe

do you guys do that? does everyone else in the world have like an inch of space in their shoe and i've been wearing the wrong size my whole life?

Opinions on these? Is there realistically any cheap, versatile black shoe that is better than this? These are currently on sale for $65 which is pretty hard to beat.

Personally i prefer Vans on these "juvenile" shoes. Converses remind me too much of junior high. I bought 2 pairs for 40€ just yesterday. Those were on sale for 35€ at the store on sale, so i'd look into that if i were you.
But to answer your question, you could always go with some slavcore options like the sambas, but i find them ugly. Nike SBs are another interesting option, and they have a higher durability from what i remember from high school, at least when compared to the all-star.

I own a pair of old 574s, which are very similar.
They are comfy after a break-in period, but nothing extraordinary. They look very bulky on my feet because of their width, which i do not like. If you have narrower feet, they may look alright, but i would either go up in the NB line to get a US/UK made pair or i would look elsewhere.

Vans and Converse are on the same level of normieness in the shoe department. On the clothing department it's another story, though.
