What raws does everyone wear with their boots?

>> No.14483467

>>14483409
Probably the service boot. The design is based off the service boot a lot of my family members wore during the great war so it feels almost sentimental in a way.

>> No.14483482

>>14483467
Look at the OP pic. Dayton based their service boot off of the Canadian boot design of WWII and then in a deal years later they gave the last to Viberg who altered it to make their service boot. Dayton's is actually truer to the original boot. And it's in BC as well

>> No.14483486

>> No.14483501

>>14483486
Of course it all comes down to personal preference. I'm just saying that Viberg got their last from Dayton to cried to copy the WWII boot.
Does Viberg make a better boot? Maybe, theirs are stitchdown and Dayton's are Goodyear welted, and Viberg is known for pretty immaculate (usually) QC.
Get whichever you want and post them in here for me to drool over.

>> No.14483902

Dayton let you build a MTO boot whereas with Viberg, you get what you're given.

So that can also influence your decision.

>> No.14483940

What are some good boot brands to buy in the UK? Would like something very similar to the OP picture.

>> No.14483949

Dayton has so many leathers to choose from it can actually be overwhelming. I emailed them to ask for pics of some of them even because they basically have anything you can think of.
Viberg does the same 4 CXL leathers and then cordovans that you need to sell your car to afford and then sometimes a one off leather that looks cool.

>> No.14483958

>>14483940
Honestly, that style is very quintessentially North American. If you want that you're basically gonna need to import it.

>> No.14483959

Are they meme boots or something
>t. board nomad

>> No.14483968

>>14483959
They are the most memey of all the meme boots. Ugly boots made for teenagers, wannabe neo-nazis and butch lesbians. They have that yellow or green stitching that looks tacky, that ridiculous air sole that is extremely soft and fast wearing but can't easily be resoled, and their leather is some of the worst out there, it's almost like plastic.
They're low quality, ugly as sin, and they're basically a wardrobe staple for demographics you don't want to associated with.
I would recommend literally anything else to someone looking for boots. Even at their low price it's still too much to pay for what you're getting. I wouldn't get them if they were 50 bucks at a thrift store

We don't make boots like the Americans unfortunately. The closest the UK has to a *heritage work boot* is William Lennon (pic related) and they're very much a matter of taste (they're incredible value for money mind you and are definitely worth supporting).

Then we have Solovair which are highly memed here and on reddit; again they are very good value for money.

But that's it. The UK has a very long lasting tradition of preppy, country and city shoes with the most famous arguably being Trickers and Loake but unfortunately, we don't have anything like Red Wing, Wolverine, Whites, Viberg, etc.

>> No.14486809

>>14486787
Who cares if they have a good silhouette and are full grain if they're not made well.
Thursday actually has a nice last they're made on, they're not ugly boots. But they're made as cheaply as possible, cut every corner they can and as a result they're just not great boots.
With boots you get what you pay for up to around 700 bucks. After 700 you're paying for personal preference stuff like leathers and colors, but quality wise you get a better built boot the more money you're willing to spend for it. Most Red Wing boots don't even have a midsole, the welt is stitched straight to the sole, but it's a 300 dollar boot, I'd expect that. On a pair of 400 dollar Whites I'd expect a midsole and better construction.
Who gives a shit if your 100 dollar boot looks decent, it will only last you a year and then you'll toss it.

Docs makes ugly boots because they know their target demographic wants ugly boots. Chippewa should know better.

And I hate to break it to you, but Chippewa is as entry level as it gets. Their leather is pretty bad and you can read up on it and find loads of reviews of people who got loose grain and bad creasing. Also, they use foam insoles because it's cheap, but the foam doesn't last like leather does. Enjoy them anon, maybe some butch lesbian will mistake them for Docs and give you a compliment on them

Sheldons are probably my least favorite boot Red Wing makes, tied with the Williston.
My issue is that it's the same boot as the Merchant but it just looks like a sterile, dressy version of it, and it's 50 bucks more expensive. These are Red Wings, they're meant to get thrashed and look better as a result.
Are you going for a dressy, smarter look or do you want some shit-kicking boots? If dressy then yeah, get the Sheldons, if not, save your money and just get the Merchants.

Leather is skin, just an animal's skin. Think of it the same way as your own human skin. When it gets dry you can feel it and you want to put some lotion or moisturizer on.
Same with your boots, when it's dry you put lotion(conditioner) on it. But don't overdo it because moisture is actually a leather killer when it doesn't need it as it can make the leather break down. Don't use too much, too often and wipe off any excess to prevent it getting built up in the leather's pores and wrecking your leather.

>implying Tiananmen Square wasn't a just reaction to the disharmonious student protests.

Authoritarian capitalism is the political-economic system of our times. All will be conquered as relentlessly capital pushes forth, deterritorializing everything in it's path. Earth will be captured by a technocapital singularity as renaissance rationalitization and oceanic navigation lock into commoditization take-off. Logistically accelerating techno-economic interactivity crumbles social order in auto-sophisticating machine runaway. As markets learn to manufacture intelligence, politics modernizes, upgrades paranoia, and tries to get a grip. The body count climbs through a series of globewars. Emergent Planetary Commercium trashes the Holy Roman Empire, the Napoleonic Continental System, the Second and Third Reich, and the Soviet International, cranking-up world disorder through compressing phases. Deregulation and the state arms-race each other into cyberspace. By the time soft-engineering slithers out of its box into yours, human security is lurching into crisis. Cloning, lateral genodata transfer, transversal replication, and cyberotics, flood in amongst a relapse onto bacterial sex.

Neo-China arrives from the future.

I've been looking for these Alico boots but can only find them on American sites. They're made in fucking Italy so it's retarded that's I'd have to order them from all the way across the world.

I actually thought they were fake plastic leather, I have no idea how they make their leather look so cheap.

I have a pair of IR’s for home and a pair of 877’s for work and just bought a couple pairs of trees today. Just putting them in for the first time and seeing the toecap fill back out instead of sagging down is such a relief. That, and my work boots get stinky from working outside so hoping the cedar will help with that as well.

You have to get it sanded and worked on professionally. Even then I don't know how good they can get it.

The arch on White's is different in that instead of steel or whatever it's made of extremely stuff leather. Being leather the arch too will break into your foot and form to it. It takes time but when it's broken in there isn't a boot brand on this Earth as comfortable as a pair of Whites
