Hi everyone. I'm going to college soon. And before I get there(and while I'm there) Id like to switch my style more to prep/classic. I'm going to a private school and its actually close to a ivy leauge school so there will probably be a lot of kids dressing real fancy using daddy's money. Sadly I don't come from a rich family. So I figure I'll have to deal with a few good pieces of medium price. But what would you guys suggest for me to wear to switch that way but also fit in. Most of my closet now is t-shirts sweaters and a couple pairs of jeans honestly. And very few shoes. What are the essentials that i can get and not look like a prick wearing basically. Yah i can agree with sweaters and I need more. I've considered chinos in the past but I always hesitated cause they felt to formal for public school in the US. I've never heard of poshmark but I'll have to do some thrifting and then tailoring cause fit is very important I know.

Also, desu you should be spending a bit more than your usual mall tier trash. Prep style is all about having style that lasts. You're supposed to buy quality clothing that will last.
