Worn these just about every day to work as a business casual boot for coming up two years, they're cemented and starting to fall apart due to pretty standard quality.

A true UK 13 would be a 14US on a brannock device. But if you're sneakers are in 13 (UK or US?) you may be wearing the wrong size because sneakers are generally 1 size up from your brannock (so a 14 brannock would wear 14.5-15 sneakers).

Anyway, if you're a 14US, you'd probably need a 13.5 or 13US boot.

So I'm brannock 14B (width at this size is meaningless because my Whites are 13EE) and I found it *extremely* difficult to find shoes that fit me. If you're in the US you've got it easier but it's difficult in the UK without spending some cash.

The problem is so many boot companies don't do half sizes at our shoe size. I found that if I tried (for example) Red Wing in a 13D-US, the length would be fine but the width would be too narrow (Red Wing don't do EE width in large sizes). Wolverine don't do wide fit in the UK either.

I've had a lot of luck with Loake. Quite expensive but the Loake Bedale in 12.5G (UK) fits me very well and they're a really good pair of shoes... but they cost £265.

I ended up sending my measurements to Whites and importing a custom pair. They fit me extremely well as a result.

Sorry if my response is a bit of a mess. The boot with is pretty difficult when you have big feet. I've probably tried about 30 different pairs of shoes in the last 1.5 years and only now have I had success so I'm more than happy to pass my knowledge onto others

This is overly simplistic and also incorrect.

Height itself is not what makes a given foot size look proportionate or disproportionate....

It has more to do with weight. There are many average/shorter height males (I work in a shoe store) with very long feet. But by and large, almost to a T, they are naturally very thick men. Thick legs, and buttocks, thick and heavy.

Foot length is proportionate to skeletal density and thickness. The thicker, more heavy set they body is, the longer the foot and more pronounced it must be to retain the balance and posture. This is decided in the womb.

The thicker your legs are, the longer the foot will be.


These are just my own anecdotal observations, but they are coming from a very large first hand sample size.

Conversely, I have seen lots of tall (>6 feet) with relatively short feet, in the Size 9 US range, but almost to a T, every single one of these males, is very LIGHT framed. Very tall and skinny skeletal structure goes with shorter more slender feet.

Because I have shoes that are not good in size, bc of the upper being too "short", like it's not tall enough, where your top of the foot and the laces are. But then, bc the leather is just soft enough, it stretches out over a couple weeks of wearing them.

The cheaper the shoe is, the cheaper the leather, the more likely you wont be happy with the fit.
that isn't even the length of the shoe at all, but it can make one pair end up fitting versus one being too loose. And when you have shoes without laces, it matters.
