Asking this again

okay this might sound like a dumb question but would it be possible for a cobbler to make my boots smaller? I have a pair of solovairs that fit me like clown shoes, I thought they were fine when I first bought them but over time I realized how ridiculous they look on me. I've had them for over a year now and am emotionally attached to them, so I'd rather have them fixed if possible than spend money on a different pair. I want it to be the boot that'll last me my whole life.

Theres a good chance its all in your head. The difference between shoe sizes is a cm or two at the most, so unless you seriously fucked up and bought boots three sizes too big, going a size up or down won't noticeably change how they look on-foot.
Your best bet will be to get an insole and maybe some thicker socks to make it feel like a proper fit. That should take care of the anxiety as well.

>> No.14448164

>>14448141
This is good advice. Most people make up in their head that something looks bad and finds excuses for it. Exactly like anon said, differences between sizes are very small. They'd have to be several sizes too big to really have a clown look. Insoles can take up space inside, but outside you'd be fine.
My brother and I are the same height, body build and everything. But my feet are size 8.5, his are 12. Both of us look normal with our shoes on.

She likes the look of boots and the aesthetic that goes with them and really wants me to get her a pair. As much as I hate Thursday for being slimy fucks, they do have some very good women's styles and for not very much.

It's been said before a million times. Thursday is a cheap boot that has been shilled to the moon and back into making people think it's some great boot they're getting a deal on. It's not.
They're made in Mexico because paying Americans is too expensive. They use an inferior proprietary version of CXL that has been shown to have much worse creasing and prone to loose grain than actual CXL all because actual CXL is too expensive despite low tier brands such as Wolverine and Allen Edmonds still using it. They use a rip off version of Dainite for their soles that is softer than actual Dainite and has shown to wear faster because of it. Their quality control at one point was down right atrocious, but they've been called out so many times they've been forced to get better. There are so many horror stories about huge gashes in the leather, crooked toe caps and my favorite, when they had different numbers of eyelets one a boot so it couldn't be laced. Absolute amateur hour kinda stuff. And that's what is so bad about them; they had a shill campaign where every single YouTuber such as Manlet Goblin Man and anyone else you can think of raved about them. They had unusually high numbers of reviews on every website possible giving 5 stars. It was later proven to be bots and fake reviews which hurt their rep further. With all of this their customer service was bad, rude and would ignore people until they too got called out.
Thursday had a very rough start and really hurt their image. They've gotten better but I still would never wear their stuff. They're cheap boots pretending to be fancy boots. Any product saying it's value for cheap is lying. If it was good it would cost more. Don't buy Thursday, get something else.

What makes a boot good is design, materials, build quality.

The aliexpress shop I linked uses very thick full grain leather. Do you know what that is? Leather comes in different qualities and full grain is the highest.

Then, each boot is made to order.

A lot of western shoes do not have any of this. I can go into more detail but you seem kind of retarded so ill leave it at that

I got my pocophone f1 off aliexpress.

It has the same chip (snapdragon 845), camera , etc., as a Google Pixel 3. It has more RAM. It beats Pixel 3 on AnTuTu.

Google pixel 3 is $1000 and was actually released after Pocophone. I got Pocophone for less than $300 on Aliexpress. My friends say its a trash chinese phone but it was objectively superior by all measures.

80% of people are retards who determine quality by only brand and cant actually distinguish objective quality

You are now aware that several years ago there was a Styleforum thread about Oak Street Bootmakers that was completely full of people posting about all the flaws on their boots and trashing the company. The thread got deleted because Oak Street couldn't handle all the bad press. Before it got deleted OSB would PM members of the site asking them to edit and delete their posts.
What is it with boot companies doing this? Truman would delete instagram posts they didn't like and block users who posted about issues they had with their boots. Thursday did the same. Why can't these brands just own up to their mistakes and make a better product? Instead of being petty and blocking people and requesting that threads on major forums get deleted, why not just admit it slipped through QC, commit to making it better and salvaging your image? OSB and Thursday deserve to fail. I like Truman but they are also assholes to their customers.

Shitty Solovairs are 145 pounds, so about $182 US, plus the $100 shipping. $282 minimum, not including taxes or any extras. You are balking at spending an extra $140 to get something quality that will last for years to come. Quality matters more than price in the long run.

Solovair doesn't make a good boot. They make fashion boots for teenagers and lesbians. Are they better than Docs, probably, but their airsole is still really hard to resole, their leather still looks plasticky and they're still formless blobs of a boot. Alright, I've been eyeing a pair of Viberg's for a while now and I've narrowed it down to Color8/Boondocker service boots. I think I kinda like the boondockers a bit more but don't know how the leather handles rain/snow and road salt. Any thoughts?

You can waterproof rougbout leather but be warned that it will get much darker. You'll probably need to clean and recondition a little more often and it still might wear out a bit faster but if you have other boots for really wet days I wouldn't worry about it too much

As far as I can tell, build-wise, these were worth every penny. Bakershoe did a really great job with advice and sizing (sent me out a try on pair even when I had sent them foot sketchings). The degree of customisation is staggering and I love how you "the customer" decide on everything. They're so much more high-end than something like Red Wing (although, even now, I still think the No. 8 last by Red Wing is a really good looking, they just don't make it in the correct size for me).
