Im the anon who posted the pic. The left one is a Tisell 43 with a seagull movement which has an incredibly loud rotor, being a slap in the face for a guy that came from quarzt movements all his life, in comparison, the next auto watch I got with a seiko SN35 movt is in comparison extremely quiet. Being an auto watch noob, I even took it to a watch repair shop for a checkup, only to find out it is a-ok. The watch really lets you know it is an auto, if you do parking manouvers in a car, tie your shoelaces or somesuch. Overall the build quality is ok, but it is a weekend watch for me seeing as it was a gift and I have a different one for daily. The dial is very crisp, holds lume well into the night, the rotation of the crown feels...unlubed, dry. The hands are heat blued, so pretty kino. I tend to keep my watches fairly high up the forearm untill it swells up or gets sweaty, either way, the crown is inobtrusive. If you like to wear your watches loose, however, it may be a bit uncomfy. The glass caseback is another nice bit of gizmo for a formerly quartz guy. No haute horlogerie by any means. The leather strap it came with his ass, and this was possibly the only one that somewhat fit it. Options for a B-Uhr strap are fairly limited, from an aesthetic standpoint.

If you can get one for under 200, jump on it.

I went to selfridges in Londons Oxford street today. Looked at AP, patek, rolex, tudor, Breitling, cartier. It's huge. It was my first time truly looking at watches in person. Never cared before. I only in the last month learnt about watches on a YouTube binge.

Anyway nearly everything looked like a mall shitter to me. Except all the breguets. And the hublot skeletons funnily enough. I was amazed at how so many well loved watches just were just not impressive in the slightest. I was expecting to be blown away by dial detail. I guess most of the value of a patek is hidden away. Yet a patek can expect to be off by 2 seconds a day. People can reach that accuracy with a regulated seagull these days.

I think my money would go so much further on a nicer car, apartment or a seriously good leather jacket.

I looked at my watch that shows my heart rate as a time series and has a sleep tracker that is just incredible. I would have to stop wearing it to wear a luxury watch and my life would be worse off for it.

So I just bought a royal oak replica watchband off aliexpress that I will put on my honor magic smartwatch. Also some python skin straps and carbon fibre pattern cowleather.

I think it looks kind of retarded with the dots outside the bigger hour markers, like two sets of hour markers, seems redundant. I don't know if I should get it with a bracelet or a leather strap.

The white dial version only comes with a brown leather strap anyway and I'd probably prefer a black leather strap if I got the white dial version, but you could change it I guess. Also don't know if I can wear metal bracelet watches, had one in the past that was very uncomfortable.

I thought maybe it's because my wrists are skinny but I've seen many women with bracelet watches so that's probably not the case. Also I'm not sure I like the way the bracelet on this watch looks. It's alright I guess but I'm kind of liking the bracelet on Tissot Automatics III and Seiko Zen Garden lately, that type of bracelet and similar bracelet types.

I never realized it would be this much of a nightmare to keep the crystal clean. Meguiars micro fiber leaves it covered in tiny fibers and even the more expensive woven one I had bough specifically not to leave so many fibers on my lenses doesn't seem to help.
