No no, life is excellent; I'm passionate about my work, and my work makes me happy. It's just that at the end of a productive day, I don't spend as much time admiring my watches as I did when I was working less. So, it's a tradeoff: I work a lot now, I can afford watches I want now, but I don't have the time or energy to enjoy them when I was working less and couldn't afford as much. However I'll consider your advice about not wearing one for a while, to see what happens. Though in truth, I use the date of the Seamaster a lot...

>>14336963
>>14336981
I do, though it's not my primary. The Suunto is my primary, the Seamaster is my secondary. There are lots of people who use Rolexes to dive with, but again, as a secondary, not a primary.

No, but we attach meaning to them because of what we've been through with them and the memories we have to them. They're like musical instruments...or cars.

No. Their internal engineering is excellent, their movements easy to service, and their holding value better than most. They mass-manufacture watches at a higher quality than anyone else in the world. Re-read that sentence carefully before responding.

The seller's an "authorized dealer" and has hundreds of positive reviews on the actual site, can't find anything about them anywhere else though, and I've read not to really trust the certification on the site.

The escrow thing seems promising though, the fact that they don't get payment until I actually get/accept the item? Any experience with this? How long do I usually have to "accept" it, is it something I have to discuss with the seller?

Chrono24 is basically as unsafe as Ebay is, but worse since they charge more to advertise on there and as a result the watches tend to be more expensive.

I've bought from both, and just make sure you do your research and KNOW exactly what your specific reference should/could have. Also don't be afraid of asking for movement pics etc (if it's a jeweller or watch shop they should be able to show you, if not pass).

As you said though, BUY THE SELLER then the watch. There's a difference between a bargain/good deal and too good to be true.

a more recent example is when he disappeared at the start of the year. it came out he was stealing people's watch photos on youtube and using them in his videos with his watermark over the top. the owners contact him, ask if he can give them credit in the description. he refuses and gets hit with a copyright ban. this is all over the internet, everyone knows why he hasn't posted for three months. he comes back and says he stopped posting because he was at the side stroking the hand of a dying family member

I got the perfect one for you. Take a look at the MWC site to find the perfect one for you. I git the desert edition one for 42€ but with a black strap, the beige strap is harder to find in europe, but they are sold more in japan.

Super comfy little field watch, domed plastic lookes awesome and the coating held up so far with no problems, keeps time well, so the movement is not utter shit. But it's only a 35mm dial, maybe it will be a problem for you.
