I recently got a cologne that smelled pretty alright in the store. It's kinda sweet smelling, but it smells awful when I'm hot. It's like a sickly sweet shitty overpowering smell. I only spray it once on my chest.

How do you prepare for this sort of thing when buying cologne? I assumed it would smell just as great as it did when I used it in the store.

kouros sat silently and then suddenly spoke: "douse". i followed orders and sprayed my neck twice. a sonoran desert toad croaked on the windowsill. "how'd you get here, bud?", i said. "eat it.", said kouros. i followed orders. i fell to my back, the ceiling tore asunder and slategray specks began to rain into my room. "they seek a new beginning.", said kouros. "they are seedstars, coming to unpack themselves. do not be afraid. come, and douse". i sprayed my wrists. "what do they want?", i ask. "they are post-larval. they've been here before, their mission is unknown." "they've been here you know?", kouros emphasized. "they've lived in rustic houses, around the rolling green hills and under the amber sun, sitting just above the horizon. these ancestors have vast tracks of land and have lived a life much like your own but sweeter and without pain. can you feel it?" i woke suddenly in my room drenched in sweat. "a bad dream is all.", i said to myself. i looked over and kouros was sitting silently on my dresser. i got up, opened the window and grabbed kouros about to lob it out. mid-heave i heard a hum and the bottle vibrated softly in my hand. that hum again, coming from the atomizer. i pressed it against my ear. "civilize the mind.", said kouros. "and make savage the body." before my eyes the bottle spun into a warm flare and vanished into a thin thread of white smoke.

i stood languishly at the urinal with a migraine creeping slowly. my eyes held shut tightly. "what a terrible week.", i thought. suddenly a wave of calm fell over me and the pain in my ears subsided. i felt good. content even for once. as i finished i watched the urine bounce off the toilet puck. "heh, urinal cake", i said softly to myself. "anon...", a voice said off the wall. i turned. nobody. "anon..." "who's there!", i shouted. deep in the heart of every man there is the the aching knowledge of something knowing he exists. in the recess of every moment of solitude, in the cove of his mind where he finds a quiet solace, there is something that knows. "i know you've not forgotten me, anon", said kouros, it's profile obscured beneath the soap dispenser, it's shape stamped into the darkness. "w-what are you doing here?", i ask. "how did you get here?" "i've always been here. before you've been, i've lived a thousand years. when there had been nothing left, i'd endured. i am the stone of time.", kouros said quietly. "what do you want with me? why me?", i said. "douse", said kouros with a slight growl. i sprayed my neck. "i've lived, but i've nothing left. when there is a void in the heart of needs, you learn to breathe meaning into existence", kouros whispered, now standing on my shoulder. "there is story to be told, and i feel the terror in your mind, a wildness so unhinged that with my words i hope to tame.", said kouros. and so kouros went to tell his story. in that lonely truckstop restroom it told me it's tale of misfortune, of fate, of war. it told me that it is far from it's place of birth, but that this misfortune is it's gift of strength, and that with every missed opportunity or bad judgement it wroughts another step in the right direction, and that sometimes you want to do wrong in a world of rights. but it became lost in the wavelength, and now it needs me. "i need you", said kouros. "yes", i said.

Kek, I also had this at first, but remember, fragrances have to be smelled and worn a lot to see how each individual phase of a fragrance develops on the skin. There are instances when the opening is superb but the drydown is literally rancid. Just go in, look for something that seems appealing and spray on blotters. If they approach you, say that you are just trying out, or that you are looking for what's new. This approach might lead to a fruitful discussion based on jumping from fragrance to fragrance. Might even be insightful if you are new to the game as most clerks for department stores have some kind of training regarding fragrances.

I just got the package this morning. I'm not going to lie, I completely forgot I even bought it. I did the early special which was $120 which at the time was a drop in the bucket for me, but I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a frag right now, and there's no way I would've gotten it if it was $160+.

When I saw the package on my doorstep from "Universal/Jeremy Fragrance" I started grinning ear to ear. It smells like they took the best parts of Aventus and Invictus and put them over a super heavy woody norlimbanol base (used in frags like Dylan Blue, CDNIM, etc). I actually like it quite a bit, but like I said I wouldn't spend $160 on it. It's definitely on par with Chanel and Dior in terms of quality, who do charge $120+ retail for their frags.

In terms of the bottle design, I'm not really mad. The whole meta behind it was Firmenich chemical wizardry designed by an AI machine learning program. Alberto Morillas even talks about the robot in the video "Perfumer Alberto Morillas" on Youtube. The whole packaging fits nicely with that robotic AI theme, which no doubt will go over most Jerememe fanboy's heads. It smells really good, and this is coming from someone who loves Kouros and dislikes most modern designer scents.

I feel similarly. It’s a snice scent (though we knew it would be safe and inoffensive), 100-120.00 would be a fair price for it, it does smell fairly high-quality, but nothing mindblowing or particularly original.

Really doesn’t add anything to the market, it certainly isn’t revolutionary like Jeremy claimed, but I’m happy with my purchase.

I dont think the base is all that novel, it’s definitely a variant on norlimbanol (used in frags such as Dylan Blue etc) but it seems like the harshness has been attenuated a bit. If you’re handsome, rich, have nice things, etc., they hate you because they want what you have but know that they’re too mediocre to ever get it. Prada Amber PH is really excellent. Really clean, powdery barbershop scent. If you get a sample that was produced after 2016 (it should have a rich purple/lavender color juice, the formula before had a more light blue color) the performance is crazy. It lasts 12+ hours, one time I sprayed on my wrist at night and still smelled it the next day after two showers.

Yeah but who cares? Fragrances might be more masculine or more feminine but that doesn’t mean its strictly for men or women. There are a few feminine fragrances that can be worn by men, I’d recommend trying Tom Ford’s Black Orchid, Dior Addict, Mugler’s Alien, and Dior’s Poison.

First impression of Bal d'Afrique. Opening is a creamy zesty lemon, leans to a sweet pineapple vibe (could compare a much smoother natural Virgin island water without coconut opening). Then the florals kick making it a sweet floral fruit cocktail. It's not too overwhelming as in a female perfume, easy wearable as a male. So far I can't pick up any distinctive vetiver note in the blend but the musk gives it a overral clean undertone.

Comparisons with other vetiver fragrances I have smelled.
Vetiver Fatal - smells nothing alike, I have no idea where this comparison came from. Vetiver fatal is centered on vetiver, a more pungent type that is. I got more f the agarwood in the opening, nothing like Bal d'Afrique.
Guerlain vetiver - no resemblance
Encre noire sport - only has a similar citrus opening. Encre noire is all about that inky vetiver.
Terre d' Hermes line - the opening of eau fraiche could resemble the zestyness of Bal d'Afrique.
Chanel sycomore - apples and oranges. It's on a total different ballgame, more towards a heavy cold weather fragrance. It does resemble Encre noire A l'extreme in nature.

These are my first impression, based on spraying and going out in a moderate semi warm weather - about 16 degress celsius. Will try again when summer heat starts.

Why do you want to smell like a bitch?

>> No.14326467

>>14326452
Well, that's the point. You would not. Scents are not inherently masculine or feminine. The msculinity/femininity of the person wearing the scent colors it.

The whole idea of a men's scent vs. a women's scent is a late 20th century marketing attempt to get men to buy fragrances.
>See? It's for men, it doesn't make you a fag! No flowers in the recipe, here. OK, some flowers. Still not gay.

Apropos Mugler's Alien, one of the most unisex fragrances by his house his the now-discontinued, and ironically named, Womanity.

Womanity is a pretty ballsy fragrance even for a woman - the caviar and fig leaf throws a hard punch.
Also, Gucci bloom isn't such a feminine fragrance, borderline unisex.
Also to answer your original post. I would stay away from Versace eros it's really bad, headache inducing. If you want something similar for colder weather i'd go for F black by Ferragamo. Sauvage EDP is way better than the messy edt, way more smoother.
