I don't claim to be rich or successful btw, i like watches and i know what to buy for the most part, The Seamaster is a watch i like regardless of value retention. I have owned a Speedy Reduced for 10+ years now and have really enjoyed the 39mm size on my small 6.25 inch wrist. I also like that it is an automatic watch. The movement is junk. It's an ETA 2892 with a disposable chronograph module slapped on top, that most watchmakers wont even attempt to service because they were meant to be disposable. If you send it to Swatch for service they throw out the entire chronograph module and replace it.

The MOTM has an archaic movement driven by nostalgia wank, but at least it still delivers that vintage chronograph experience authentically with a well built, long lasting movement.

There's an apocryphal internet story about the 2894 movement not being able to be serviced, and watchmakers simply chucking out the DD module because it's too expensive to fix.
