The Islays are absolutely beautiful. I'm fully prepared to blow tax return money on a pair of them, but I have to come to terms with the height first. They;re a lot taller than other ankle boots I've owned.

You mean actual, real combat boots? Oh gee, I wonder why they're all tan? Actually, most are now coyote tan colored. As for if they're a meme or not, that depends on what you're wearing them for. When I was in the army wearing them every single day they sure weren't a meme. But if you're just a larper or a Shia-fag who wears them casually then they're probably very much a meme.

Cap toe MP Service boots. One pair in black CXL, one in brown oiled smooth. Dainite soles on both.
They're so comfortable because of White's arch-ease system. Everything is leather, even the shank, so they mold to your feet and support them making them extremely comfortable. Comfiest boots I own. And they're built like tanks too.

As in the owner of Thursday Boots is a redditor?

Anyway, Thursdays are made in Mexico, using a ripoff formula of CXL. fake Dainite soles that are supposedly a lot softer than actual Dainite and wear twice as fast, don't use all leather inside but have foam shit.
Everything about them screams "cheap" but then again, that's the point. If I was an entry level boot person and had no idea what I liked as far a GYW shoes goes, or just wanted a sturdy pair of shoes to beat up, I'd consider Thursdays.
My wife is starting to get jealous of all my nice boots and wants to get a pair too. So I've been showing her some Thursdays for women. If she likes them then we can go up a tier and find some really good ones to match mine. If she doesn't, then at least they cost less than 200 unlike someone of my other boots that cost 3 times that.

Is there anything that can be done about the state of this boot? They look ok apart from this very wrinkly side, they're likely +40 years old and may have even been to Vietnam.

Because the market for people who actually buy them are two parts. One is the main market of actual military who buy multiple pairs for actual work and have uniform regulations dictate the material, color, and shape of the boot. The other is edgy fags either larping or being a pretend "rebel." nobody exists in the second category because only retards think they look good when not wearing cammies.

Those definitely dont look to be old enough to have gone to Vietnam and that isn't an American boot pattern from the era and most countries used our jungle boots regardless. They look German or swedish from the 80s or some shit. The only thing you can do to them is to condition them with shoe grease like Huberds or snow seal or saddle soap. I personally use huberds shoe grease because it smells good and makes the leather soft and saddle soap has damaged some of my older leather boots, that were painted instead of dyed, which is common on vintage military issue boots.
