I have a wine fridge at 12c that I keep most of my beer (upright of course) and wine in. No cellar, sadly. Regarding Rochefort vs Westvleteren, I guess it's just personal preference. I did a blind tasting a few years ago between the two as well as the St. Bernardus Abt. 12. Rochefort 10 came first, Westvleteren XII second, St. Bernardus third. All good beers, but I prefer the Rochefort by a hair.

A few threads back a watchmaker posted about having a P80 on his bench. It was confirmed that it does have a synthetic escapement, like the Sistem51. BUUUUUT. There's also P80s with a metal escapement and a silicon balance spring, it's the COSC version of the Powermatic 80, but it's also pricier than the regular P80.

The Powermatic 80's synthetic escapement doesn't need a lubrication as it is self-lubricating. It doesn't have a regulator either, as the rate is set at the factory with a laser.

You like Huey Lewis and the News? Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor. Yes, it is. In '87, Huey released this; Fore!, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip To Be Square". A song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends. It's also a personal statement about the band itself.

A date is definitely easier than an entire digital watch. Here's IWC's Pallweber, it isn't flush either and the display is definitely smaller than the Zeitwerk.

If you round off the hexagonal minutes disc, it would be too big and it'll be far too spaced out from the other minute disc another side effect of making it rounded to make it flush is that would either make the watch even larger or make the display smaller. Lange creating the Zeitwerk is a great engineering feat.

That's what a beater is anon. How large is your wrist if you don't mind me asking? I'm a wristlet and I'm thinking of getting the 013 instead of the 007. The watch fits your wrist perfectly btw.

Got this watch as a 29th birthday gift from my SO. I can’t stop staring at it. As has been said before on this sub about this watch, it’s so elegant and clean, perfect for dressing up or dressing down. Super thin and light on the wrist and I love the 35mm sizing. The Horween cordovan strap that comes with it is pretty decent quality as well.

I’ve ordered a Panasonic CTL920 rechargeable battery. I’ll attempt to fix it myself or maybe get my watch guy to do it. The original battery has additional metal tabs soldered onto it but apparently you can replace it with a normal one and place the metal tab on top and it works fine.
I’ll be happy when mine charges up properly again.

>> No.14154483

>The original battery has additional metal tabs soldered onto it
I think they do that for legal reasons. It stops being a rechargeable cell and becomes a watch movement part. Otherwise rechargeable cells fall under some hazardous material classification.

Or something like that.
