My US Limited Edition Seiko Alpinist finally arrived! I'm still in awe about this new release. I've been telling myself that if Seiko ever released a blue version of my beloved SARB017, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I was at lunch break when the first announcement came out at Hodinkee, and I bought one without hesitation. Still can't believe I'm one of the lucky ones.

As far as comparing it with the original green version, the sunburst navy blue dial is considerably darker and more subdued, which I actually really like. Overall, it's a lot less flashy. It's interesting how simply changing the hands and indices to silver transforms it to a totally new watch. The leather strap is actually pretty decent. It's still a little stiff, but nowhere near as bad as the alligator strap that came on the SARB017.

I don't know what else I can say, except that I am definitely going to wear the hell out of this watch!

I don't get these mods.. The polish is a matter of tastes I guess, but why do so many people swap around SKX013 dials and hands for SNKs? I think the dial & hands fit much better with their respective watches, never even mind that an SNK is not a diver, and not 200m water resistant, so it just looks dumb to have that printed on the front imo..

Speaking about richfags vs. poorfags, I just replaced the strap on a genuine PO 600. The owner wanted to preserve the original rubber strap, so he got the exact chink replica of it to put it on for daily use.

It was kinda nice. The watch was definitely genuine, I put it on the timegrapher and i8t showed the correct cuck-axial beat rate (cuck-axials are 25200bph).

And just as I'm about to post this the next guy comes in and asks if I'd service his auto-Komandirskie. This is why I have no regrets being a mallnigger, I get to see everything.
