Calculate your tdee and subtract in increments of 500, each 500 you subtract is around a pound a week, the harder you cut the faster you lose. Once you get your daily intake stick to it and LOG EVERYTHING. As for what to eat, you can eat pretty much anything but it's better to avoid empty calories (junk food, you know what I mean) because if you're eating say 1200 calories a day you'd want 1200 calories of nutritious food that will keep you satiated opposed to 1200 calories of crap. Occasional junk food is fine though just don't let it become your diet. The only thing to avoid downright is liquid calories: soda, beer, juice, etc. Stop drinking soda if you do and have it only very infrequently if you must (once you cut it out you won't miss it, trust me), diet sodas are still bad because liquid cancer and also sugary drinks aren't good for appetite but if you really must have soda make it diet. Same thing with beer and juice pretty much, water is your friend. As for how to prepare, you can't really, just make a plan and stick to it, change parts if you have to, and go in with a positive attitude. Don't think of it as a temporary thing think about it as a change in lifestyle. You might be hungry all the time when you first start and that will probably stop after a bit but if it doesn't then water and fiber are your friends.

DAILY REMINDER TO START LOSING WEIGHT BY EATING A DEFICIT OF 250 AT THE MOST

After a certain amount of time (depending on your genetics), your body will adapt to the amount of calories you eat in a deficit, and it will begin to act as actual maintenance. Your body is literally BUILT to adapt to new conditions. Oddly enough, if you stop eating that amount, and go back to your ACTUAL maintenance calories, you will not gain weight, and continue to maintain. So when you hit your plateau at a 250~ calorie deficit, guess what? You can go down another 100~ or so and continue to lose weight. If you do what >>14100710 did, you could literally eat 900 calories, and eventually, yes, your body will get used to it. You may go from 210 pounds to 160, losing 50 pounds, but you might plateau there and be unable to hit your goal of 140. Why? Because it's a lot easier, and a lot better for your body, to go from eating 1900 calories to 1700, as opposed to going from fucking 900 to 700. Now this guy has to go back to maintenance calories, adapt to that (which there is no way to measure how long that will take), and go back to a deficit after a certain amount of time.
Don't try to expedite your weight loss progress by eating below half of your maintenance calories all of the sudden. In addition to your adaptations, it has a high likelyhood of fucking up your metabolism, IE, your ass will gain a bunch of weight back when you go back to "maintenance". If you actually learned how to cook at home, you would realize that it's not hard to eat 1700 (or less!) calories every day as a male, or 1400 as a female. Stop eating microwave bullshit and oven pizzas, or going to eat out all the time.

Somehow I follow through. I'm not a big fan of OMAD, I prefer to count 800-1000 calories throughout the day, and I usually skip lunch because either I'm busy or I'm not very hungry. Currently I'm on summer waiting for uni to start, so I just wake up, kill time until 4-5, eat something healthy and that's it.
