I had a good base to start on, genetically. tall, natural ectomorph with high metabolism. I still eat decent (around 1350 cal a day, some days i might hit 1600).
Since the age of 4, I've never been "normal weight". I was always skinny as a kid. It wasn't until I turned 16 that I started caring about weight and got problems with EDs (which I don't really suffer from now, only BDD).
I just walk a lot and eat for maintenance. Don't really starve myself anymore. Oh yeah, ADD medication helps with hunger and staying skinny, but it's only recently that I got put on, about 6 months ago.

Holy smokes. This week has been horrible. I've been restricting pretty heavily and diligently for the past two months or so, but this week. This fricking week:

- spent all my time either sleeping or playing pokemon yellow/consuming internet garbage instead of pursuing my usual interests
- ate massive amounts of carbs, sweets, garbage
- I literally ate spoonfuls of nutella and boxes of cereal
- I ate to the point of my stomach hurting. I spent all night on the toilet. It hurt.
- not even motivated to purge, even though it would come easy to my since I 'suffer' from rumination

This isn't fun anymore. I feel like an empty, stupid shell of myself. I ruined myself in a week. I will fast, starting today, for at least a week. I feel disgusting. I hate myself so fucking much.

So only fallback is fasting. Bad timing. Wish me luck fanons. I never thought myself capable of being a slob without self control. I must have eaten worse than a morbidly obese person this week. This can't be healthy. Falling from one extreme into another. It was a bad idea to restrict too heavily. Be sustainable, folks.

Whenever I fast, around a day into it I begin to feel a constant tinge of nausea along with intermittent feelings of lethargy and groginess like that of a fever. If you starved yourself the point you were left nothing but essential fat reserves (as in, you were about to die) your BMR would only decrease by 15-20%. That adds up to maybe a 200 calorie drop. You really shouldn't concern yourself with the idea of that happening to you.

Try tracking your calories and trying to eat anywhere from 1000-1200 calories and start exercising. Exercise could just be walking, but obviously more intensive stuff burns more.

With a BMI of 15.6 for myself, assuming I had completely starved myself for weeks to get a 30% decrease (this is extremely unlikely to happen to you unless you outright don't eat for a very very long period of time), my BMR would be 770. Even just sitting up in bed or on a couch burns around 200 on top of that. So it's just under 1000, which isn't weight gain territory.

Were you binging on weekends? That can easily undo any progress. When I was really underweight I'd have intense periods of reactive hunger where I could slam down close to 10,000 calories on some days which makes an entire week of dieting useless.

Actually, if you are a complete skelly, as in BMI in the low teens, you might have a TDEE under 1000. But I hope none of us reach that point.

Drink butter or oil? Or make smoothies with tons of nuts, seeds and full fat coconut milk. They can be really delicious and still high calorie.
Also get checked for diseases, digestive problems and intolerances, type 1 diabetes, cancer (easier said than done, I know), parasites etc. These can make you fail to gain weight despite eating, so it’s best to rule them out.

To sustain a grown man you actually need a few kg of food every day, especially if you’re eating healthy and exercising.
People need a surprising amount of food. You could easily need 3 kg of vegetables and meat.

I'm not the pizzas guy. I'm pretty sure I have some sort of parasites or health issues lmao. But my mom is also thin as a twig too. I got her hyper effeminate bone structure. Like my bones are more dainty than my sister's.

And I know how to calorie count. Lmao I played sports and had trainers n shit. I can get to a normal weight for my height, 150-155 ish at 6'0, but it's hard to maintain and I sit around 140 if I'm eating ~2.5 calories a day. Except for my hips and shoulders, I'm build really lean, so even when I was working out every day for sports I looked skinny, even tho I could out lift a lot of my teammates.

Obviously bone structure has a lot to say, and if you’re small framed BMI will never be right. I have the same ‘issue’; I look completely normal at a bmi of 16.5~17.
But not being able to keep weight on despite trying and normally eating well isn’t good

Is there any reason you haven’t already gotten a medical checkup?
Parasites aren’t good, to point out the obvious, ou could be spreading them too if you have any. Diabetes is also pretty lame to leave untreated

Any vegans here? I'm considering veganism, I felt terrible after eating a heavy meal of lobster and steak on Christmas. Haven't eaten any animal products for three days and doing fine. I'm still with my meat eating family and we rarely ever eat together so it's easy to be mostly vegan but I don't want to be a pain and the ass when we actuallu sit down for dinner or go out, should I try to be vegan as much as possible until I can go full vegan?
