they can work depending on what you pair them with and the way you use them but they definitely aren't "in". if you wear a lot of street wear and have some other jewelry to pair with it, it can look good. but I wouldn't recommend studs as a standalone piece or if you're wearing anything classier than a hoodie and some jeans
