16 year old ETA, apparently it was in a repair shop twice. Motherfuckers never actually serviced it. This is 16 year old tar in the pivots, the movement was completely seized up.

Of course now I'm gonna recommend a full movement service to the owner, luckily this is one of the last 21600bph ETA's, so it's likely not completely worn out like a 28800 movement would be after so long without service.

Measure speed over known distance or calculate time over distance at known speed. I sometimes use the fist function for giggles when I'm on a bus or train.. You push in the chrono at a mile marker or sign that says (exit 1km / mile) and you stop it once you've travelled a mile/km. The seconds hand should now be pointing at your speed in units/hour. In my case I consistently clocked the bus to the airport in Mallorca at 95km/h..

7S26 movement changes the day between 00:00 and 03:00, and will display the alternative language at some point during that period before it rolls to the language you've set.. If you want it to display English normally, set the time to anywhere outside of the 21:00-03:00 window during which the day and date change, set it to the correct day and date (or a day before if you have to wind past midnight to set the correct time). if I want to keep my collection down to 4 watches max, what do you think of this

Citizen bm8180-03e
Seiko Tuna sbbn033
Tisell 40mm type a
????

What should I change around and what should the 4th be?

can't let go of the citizen. that seems to be my favorite. the tisell I want to be my only automatic so I don't need to worry about setting dates when I decide to wear it.

I'm thinking of getting the tuna to replace my sne437 diver which I never particularly loved and kind of have buyer's remorse for, but bought to replace my skx007 for practicality purposes. but it never fit or wore the same as the skx did.

I wouldnt say I'm antisimetic per se. I'm just annoyed that any criticism is seen as antisemitism and any critical thinking and analysis of the holocaust is taken as holocaust denial.

I'm in the corner where everyone is equal but don't like how Jews seem to be considered more equal than others.

take the recent shootings. that's going to go down as one of the biggest hate crimes in histories when the Charleston shooting was the exact same thing except against elderly black people. where although it's still a hate crime. won't be fear mongered as much as the Pittsburgh one.

just like how the holocaust is seen as the worst (sometimes even the only) genocide in history.

wouldnt surprise me if the adl don't meme the Pittsburgh shooting as being worse than 9/11 in the history books.

like I said, I'm not antisemitic. how can you hate pretty Jewish girls :3

i have one. It was my first foray into a ‘decent’ watch. I’d recommend it as a first good watch to anyone. They’re cheap to buy, very low maintenance and feel really solid, looks good too (in my opinion).
Be careful though, they’re very cheap for an Omega diver and because of that they can be quite dodgy. In car terms they’re a 3.0 Porsche 911 circa 2007. I got burned on mine, turns out a car mechanic owned it prior and it was filthy and the omega logo on the clasp was missing. After a cleanup it looked nice, I’ll post a pic later. Buy one for under £600 and if you dislike you’ll easily get your money back.

I'm on mobile, but I happened to be in NY so I happened to see a citizen chronometer in person (as well as others). Sadly, I did not have time to also visit the Grand Seiko store there as that's in a different place. Also fuck me, it's the chronomaster not the chronometer. It's definitely a Nautilus and not a Royal Oak. It's a nice watch and I guess rich people buy way uglier stuff these days, but it's funny because originally the RO and Nautilus were meant to be a big "fuck you I'm rich" watch because they were outrageously expensive for being just a plain steel sports watch with nothing to really justify such a high price tag.

I know the 7S26 is a respected movement, but it's not really known for accuracy afaik.. Is this a fluke? Am I just lucky? Is it deviating wildly throughout the day, and do I just check it on just the right times?

Let's say you love grilled cheese sandwiches. You're probably not going to eat just a straight plain grilled cheese every time. You might add some bacon one day, or tomato, or use a different bread/cheese combo, or cook it in a different type of fat. Still, the sandwich is fundamentally a grilled cheese because that's what you like. It's similar with watches. If I like an aesthetic, I tend to buy more watches that adhere to that style, but perhaps with individual differences that are interesting or meaningful to me.
Is this a good use of money? No! But neither is buying any watch except for a $20 quartz which you then swap out for a new one every 5 years.
