Is my hair retarded or is it just me?

How do I even make this shit look good. Every time I try to put it into a quiff or whatever it looks ridiculous

Loose hairs stick out in my part that I can't fix.
The other side of my hair is just pointing in some random direction
The front and top just wont stay in place and fall forward sometimes

I put mousse in and blowdried that shit but it doesn't seem to come out that great. So when I add extra shit after to try and fix it, it doesn't really make it look good

What should I do /fa/? I just dont want shitty looking bowl cut tier hair

maybe just go with a different hairstyle or go get a haircut man. you might want to do something with bangs/partial bangs bc that hairstyle you have now make your forehead look big

Maybe. I'm not really sure what I should get

My normal hair is pic related which doesn't look very good

work on your blow-drying technique, learn to use a round brush to create volume. watch some videos of barbers styling pomps and quiffs. with practice you could style your hair a lot cleaner. the only way to deal with those loose hairs is to allow them to grow so they can be incorporated. or go to a good barber and try a new cut entirely up to you I guess

Are you perchance Finnish or from some other Nordic country? If so, our fine hair genetics really make styles like that difficult to pull off in a satisfying manner. Like the guy above mentioned, technique and equipment are pretty important. Also I don't know how often you wash your hair but try to do it less often and use dry shampoo to deal with the greasiness. Also your sides stick out and really detract from your general look, so try to cover them with your hand while you are blowdrying and maybe lock them down with hairspray or just cut them shorter. Might also look into some other prestylers like a thickening tonic. Aveda has a good one, albeit it is a bit pricey.

would a stronger blowdriyer help? The one I currently have seems to get warm enough but the current isn't that strong

I also havent been using a brush, I will pick one up and see how it goes. I binge watched some youtube videos but haven't been able to recreate it well yet

I'm Australian but pretty sure I have a lot of German, etc in me.
I wash my hair every day so maybe I should stop that.
Also should I be using conditioner? I haven't for the longest time but maybe it would help?

I have similar shitty hair. Only messy styles with wax look decent because of how fine and sparse the hair is. Still at the end of the day it usually just lays flat

Wash it, and then blowdry it in the shape with help of comb. Should look like this.

After that apply wax with heavy hold (I use schwarzkopf power wax) or pomade (I use royal crown pomade NOT hair dressing).

The hair will retain the direction (slicked back/combed back) but it will not look like you're all electrocuted (like in your photo). I've had the same problem if I applied products to dry hair in its normal position (like on your second photo).

Also on your second photo, the hair is bit too short for quiff, it should touch eyebrows for this style to work.

Other than that, you can't expect hair to stay firm all day if there is wind etc, it's normal for some of it to stick random, and it also adds to the casual style.

Is that a headphone dent on the right side of your head? I have the exact same type and colour of hair as you and I can't wear headphones for more than a few minutes without leaving dents that last for the rest of the day.

>> No.13749669

you have to grow it way longer and then slick it back, instead of dead short back and sides trims for a fiver

You're hair sticks out because it's neither short or long enough to stay in. Get a tighter taper on the back and sides and tell your barber you want the hair long enough on the top to comb over.

You could easily rock a side part pompadour. Next time don’t just fucking blow dry it up lmao

Definitely should be using conditioner! You might want to look into sulfate free shampoo and conditioners.

Also, make sure you're using cold water rather than hot water to wash your hair. I personally have long hair and shampoo about once a week and condition it twice or three times a week. Also, pat your hair dry rather than scrubbing it dry.

>> No.13751531

Your going to want your barber to bring it in a little more on the sides near the top. You will have to get a trim more often than you are probably used to if you want to keep it looking good.

OP here. Maybe I should change my hairstyle even?

Would I be able to pull something like this off?

1. Dampen hair
2. Comb it in the direction you want it
3. Apply wax while the hair is still wet
(4. Blowdry a little if necessary, preferably not
5. Use hairspray if your wax sucks)

I have the exact same hair type as you do. The trick is to first comb it so that all the hair strands goes in the same direction and then to lock them in place with your product(s).

Yeah not bad. Personally I would go sliiiightly tighter at the top of the side so you don't have hair sticking out a week later.
