It looks like it was drawn by a beginner. The hammer looks deformed and has one side larger than the other. Even for a norse looking hammer it looks so thin and uneven. The perspective is fucked. The way he has shaded the hammer-head makes in look concave. I don't understand why the hammerhead is the same width as the handle, It almost looks like a hilt that has a blade missing. I am assuming that is supposed to be Thor's hammer. As far as line-work is concerned it is a tad shaky.
My honest advice to fix it would be pic-related. The blue shows the modifications to the hammer - bring it more out at the back to appear thicker, the shading on the flat side of the hammer should be more blended and less harshly contrasting. The red section shows where the hammer should be covered up in some way to try and revive the shapes proportions. Just a rough idea.

Haven't used anything to "keep" my drawing alive, thats why you can see worn off signs everywhere and the lines grow a little bigger by time.

the gas tank of this lighter is made off copper, so if you scratch off paint you will see this gold shimmer.
I noticed that because you get little scratches all the time and then thought to "draw" on it.

In the end it took me like an hour or so fiddling around with one of my knifes. Didn't plan on the actual Immage itself because I can't do that. I just start drawing or in this case scratching and it goes on from there.

Depends on the artist and the piece. My backpiece is a work in progress. It goes from my shoulders down to my lower back above the pant line. Touchups can only be done so many times before your skin can't hold ink anymore. Sure that looks good as an instagram photo, and is well executed, but the longevity isn't there. A tattoo is supposed to be permanent, not a fashion trend. You could get that if you want, but be prepared for it to look like shit quick. Even with proper aftercare and sunscreen, it won't hold as well as American Traditional or Japanese.
