They're not being anti-establishment, MBTI genuinely is pretty hokey. It has about as much scientific validity as the theory of the four humors, or a "what Marvel Universe character ARE YOU?" quiz. And I mean, it's not utterly meaningless, because when you take those quizzes you might tend to get Ant Man most of the time, clearly the result is consistent and nonrandom. But you're not particularly likely to behave like other people who got Ant Man and the fact that you got Ant Man has next to no no predictive power over your behavior.

It's fine so long as it's treated as the fluffy nothing that it is. Myers Briggs upsets people because it's managed to achieve a completely undeserved legitimacy and dipshit middle managers and even a handful of people in the less rigorous social sciences take the thing seriously. It doesn't belong in a scientific publication, and shouldn't have any influence over your career.
