If you can stretch to $3,500 you could get a Tudor BB58 with Tudor's in-house movement.

If you must stay below $3k, I'd at least consider a used ETA 2892 powered Omega Seamaster I guess.

Sadly not many companies using the ETA 2892-A2 in divers other than microbrands with known QC issues.

Is there anything worth of attention in the 3-5k with the specs I want?

I considered it too, but I'm not too fond of the design. I still can't decide if it is cool or it is another victim of the 90's designs.

The only other options I've found are:
>Doxa Sub 1200t or something like that

I can't believe they misspelled descent twice in the same paragraph.

Also you should download a program called shareX to make screenshots easier. You just hit the key and can use your mouse to highlight the area of your screen you want and then it will automatically upload it and send you a url. You can also use it to record your screen in gifs or do other shit with it.

The Rado was indeed a gift. I do really like it however. Has quite a fair bit of sentimental value to me and it's pretty unique in comparison to everything else I own. Next Rado on my to-get list is a Purple Horse. Really like some of the case and dial variations on them. Gotta wait for the right one to come up though. Might see if I can find a pic of the one in particular I am looking for and post it ITT.

Keeps more accurate time, is more durable and more resistant to shocks and magnetic fields, battery lasts 5 years, it gives a low battery warning with no need to worry about whether or not it's fully wound.

Also the 7C46 is a good movement. It's sturdy and made to be repairable and it has high torque to drive full-sized hands. The hands hit the indices and don't wobble and it's totally silent. Just because lots of quartz watches are shit doesn't mean they're all shit.

My daily driver used to be a Seiko Samurai that my girlfriend bought me for our one year. After we split about 5 months ago I decided to snag this for about 700 usd from a guy off ebay.

Really light cause titanium, and I unironically dig the bind strap I threw on. Anyone have any opinions on the shogun? I know I could've gotten the sumo for the same movement, but I'm not sure what it is, but I'm not the biggest fan for a 4oclock crown

It's amazing what little shit can stop a watch movement from properly working. The wear on the edge of the tooth at the 9th of the date wheel is barely visible even at 500x mag, but even this is enough so that the date quickset get stuck at the 9th with the sliding pinion jumping off the tooth's edge.

You don't. ISO certification in these times is only a marketing gimmick: it has been introduced in 1996, when mechanical watches were not used anymore for diving.
Who the hell dives with an expensive, obsolete tool, which has problems even dealing with gravity?. Also, Rolex doesn't certify their Subs and Sea-Dwellers, you think people wouldn't buy one just for that?
If you -really- need something to do at least recreational diving with, pick a diving computer from Suunto or something.
If you want a diver-styled watch, there's plenty of options. I bet you want something mechanical and affordable: pick an Orient Ray/Mako II on rubber (it's usually cheaper than the version with the folded links crappy bracelet) and swap the stock strap with a fabric one or a bracelet from Strapcode.

You can read the ISO dive watch standards requirements here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_Resistant_mark#ISO_6425_divers'_watches standard

Note that the standard requires every watch to be pressure tested at the factory while non ISO divers are not individually tested. If you plan to take a non-ISO dive watch diving, please have it pressure tested by a watchmaker first.

Also note thar Alex at Artifice Horoworks re pressure tests every modified SKX he sells before sending it to the customer.

Most happens kinda unconsciously but if you can self reflect you will see how much you are part of a game of social approval.
You can see something related in here too honestly.
In a thread like this there is a certain culture too, in which I see a lot of sheeps and a lot of "correct" and "incorrect" opinions to have about this or that brand or model of watch. looking to get the ocean 1 39, whats the qc like ive heard good and bad?

Judging from the collections in here, most of us are fairly early in the stages of our collection.
So far I own a Seiko SKX007J,
Orient Bambino FAC00004B0 (on bond seatbelt strap),
a Seiko 5 SNKL23,
about 5 vintage Seiko 5's from India on ebay ( would not recommend I bought these very early in collection and they were all mostly awful quality, search frankenstein watches)
a Dan Henry 1970 black dial (would and wouldn't recommend these, great if you know some vintage pieces but they are nice chinese models but feels a little off as a brand.
and finally the most expensive watch I bought but not my favourite is the classic moonphase by frederique constant.

I'm saving towards a steinhart schwarz 39, a motm omega and in future would look to get a black bay tudor and a cartier tank

See the problem is because my knowledge is in such infancy I feel these are pretty basic directions to go with collecting and want to learn more but for example a vintage Laurel or Seamaster or the omega Le Magique but idk. if anyone on here knows their shit please link me any credible sources for interesting watch brands that haven't reached me.

and don't link TVG or Archie or the fat fucking frederique or the absolute waste of a person theo and harris, I'm aware of their good and bad contributions.

Also AMA idk I like watches.
