Reminder that if your watch cost less than $3000 it's garbage, if you can't afford a proper watch you should take up a second or third job until you can afford a proper watch.

I'm asking again
Thoughts on "gold" watches that aren't actual gold?
Isn't that as stupid as the plastic Casio digital watches that have a painted plastic case that looks like steel?

The quality of the hands and dial printing are "micro-details"? I'd consider micro-details things like the quality of the engraving on the caseback or the clasp, the quality of the hands and dial are obviously not micro-details.

It's made with no attention or care for the details and that's why reps are shit, because that's what watches are all about. They are all like this, repfags don't care if it's actually a good watch they just care that it looks like the real thing. If you point out issues with them they just say "hurr well you won't notice on the wrist" or "99% of people won't notice".

Take a look at how the light catches the hour markers and hands, it looks like I made it myself in my garage:

>>>/wsg/2291066

Also a vid here of a significantly more expensive and better fake that has the same issues, though to a lesser degree:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGcHGx0aEvQ

You obviously can't expect miracles for sub-$500, but they are a lot, lot worse that a real watch you'd buy at the same price point.

Genuine question here folks, I want a nice luxury wrist watch but the only rolex I like is the sub and at almost £7k I just cant afford it. I like the look of the Tudor bb58 more than any watch I have ever seen but I work in the city and are people just going to think "couldnt afford a rolex" whenever they see it? Are the movements in these watches highly regarded? I can just about afford the 58 with gold and steel bracelet. Thanks

>are people just going to think "couldnt afford a rolex" whenever they see it?
Maybe, and it's true in a sense, but it's a retarded attitude to have. They are still super good watches, only real downside to the BB over a Sub on a purely spec sheet level is the lack of ceramic bezel and the fact that the movement isn't as proven.

Sounds like you're setting yourself up for disappointment though, and I'm sure if you can afford to drop three grand on a watch you can afford to drop seven on one.

Maybe look for a used five digit date Sub, you can get them around the five grand mark I'm pretty sure.

If you like it buy it. Don't be an insecure bitch about it regarding others. I will say if you can really drop $3,500 on a watch you can probably afford to be a bit patient and save for the Rolex. I got mine when they were still around the £65 mark though. Go for the MKII Alpha Explorer on an oyster bracelet if you want to buy one. the MKI/1st version aren't as water resistant and the build quality isn't quite as good either. Still solid cheap watches for the money.

Won't she see the watch? Why even bother hiding it?

Also, I didn't chime in until now, but I for one think that when it comes to a lot of Tudor models, it's not at all like "couldn't afford a rolex" because they aren't the same watches. For example, the Tudor BB is not the Submariner and doesn't really look like one either. Then Tudor has other watches that are different too, like the Tudor Advisor, pic related, one of the coolest Tudor watches imo.
