Beckmanns I own since almost five years. Been wearing them every winter, usually in spring and also autumn. Basically all the time it's not actually warm.
I also use them everywhere for everything. Today I was brewing, hence the dust and dirt. But now they are done for this season. They will get a scrub with warm soapy water and a coat or two of beeswax and a nice place somewhere for the summer.

Depends what you do with them, truly. If you're doing some hardcore engineering or construction work, about a year. I was an electrician for a few years and I'd wear them every other day or so other than soft shoes. Those lasted 3 years or so.

You can make them last a lot longer if you oil them every other month or so.

I was a little annoyed when I started seeing them pop up more here a bit ago, but it in a way I'm kind of glad more people like them. Even if they're becoming a meme now.

They won't last long for several reasons, all of which can be narrowed down to one single reason; you are an idiot. You intend to deliberately abuse your footwear, neglect routine maintenance and avoid allowing them to rest.

Get two pair, rotate them and maintain them. They will last decades! They will look and feel better the entire time! They will improve with age! They will still smell like leather instead of mold and mildew.

I got a pair of redwings in the mail like an hour ago, they fit nicely immediately in dress socks, still though how much pain am I in for? pic related it's my boots

What color are those? They look great from the pic

My IRs felt amazing the first day, I stupidly assumed there would be no painful break in. But then they started to rub my heel and I got a blister but that lasted maybe 2 days. Give them a week or so and you'll be fine. By a month they'll form to you and feel as comfortable as anything you own.
I ditched those laces very quickly, they just dug into the top of my feet when I laced the boot tight and made them unwearable, so i replaced them with flat laces and now i wear them all the time for long periods with no pain at all

Thanks! just the regular Copper Rough & Tough, the color got thrown off cause I tried to mute the very red/orange wood stain on the floor in my apt.

No they aren't. In goid year wekt the sole is stiched to the welt, and the welt to the upper. You can see in docs and cheaper solovair that the visible stiching connects the upper and the welt, not the sole. The sole is just heatsealed.
