I started 2 months ago, so I am still a baby. Now doing an upper/lower split. Mostly isolation, I am not strong enough for compound like deadlifts yet sadly, but I do have some compound movements in my plan aswell. Usually do 8-12 reps, 3-4 sets and 1-2 minutes rest. I am by no means an expert, but if I were you I'd dump the bro-split and do full body workouts. The bro-split is popular among bodybuilders mainly because they aim for hypertrophy (muscle expansion aka "getting HUEG") and "the pump" which is achieved by high volume of reps in the same area of the body. I'm pretty sure you don't want to get HUEG.

If you simply want to be stronger and more self-reliant start with 2-3 months of Reg Park's 5x5 (https://oldschooltrainer.com/reg-parks-beginner-routine/)), simply substitute the chin ups/pull ups with the lat pulldown if you can't do them, and do dumbbell curls instead of barbell, because even an empty bar is still 20kg.

Another good full body program is "convict conditioning". There are progressions for each exercise and even if you can't do a chin up (or any of the other suggested exercises) at the beginning, a few weeks, to a couple of months in you should be able to make it. I honestly think this is one of the best all-rounders for people of every walk of life, because it teaches functional strength and requires a minimal amount of equipment.

For what it's worth the /fit/ sticky is a good place to find a lot of information in a nutshell and finding the right direction in which you need to develop, just don't make threads asking stuff, they get super anal about it.
Lastly, and very importantly: Kilograms are not a measurement of beauty or fitness. Eat well and don't feel guilty. If you work out properly and don't eat more than 2k calories consistently a day you will never get fat, your diet sounds fine enough.

it's really depressing but it is sadly the truth, the calorie counters overestimate heavily in my experience

unless you are 250lbs and walking 4mph (which, i dont think any of us here) you're burning 80-120 calories per hour of walking.

If you see a calorie counter that tells you 200 calories per hour, they're including the 80 calories per hour that your organs burn regardless (2000 calories / 24 hours = 83 calories)

the only way to be thin is through dieting.

Can someone help me out? Maybe I was only person dumb enough in this thread to experience this but it would be nice to get some (You)s since I don't know what to do.

I'm pretty sure I've become nutrient deficient from my months of caloric restriction. I didn't go about it the right way and I just ate low calorie foods and pretty much avoided fats of all kinds because I associated fat with calorically dense food (stupid I know). My vitamins on paper were all sufficient but I'm pretty sure I didn't absorb any of them because I wasn't including enough fats. Is it safe for me to fast or you should I just focus on nutrition for now? I haven't done any blood work but my skin has become really dry and my hairline has been violently receding. Is this stuff reversible? I am pretty sure I don't have male pattern baldness since this issue with hair loss began so quickly and violently and I am only 19 and this kind of thing does not happen in my family. I've increased my fat intake from and average of 5g a day to ~38g. I usually shoot for 50g. Some days I hit it some days I don't. Should I go higher?

If it's been less than 2 weeks or so, don't sweat it. Normal fluctuations happen and unfortunately sometimes we stall for a week or two even when we're doing everything right. Give your body some time to catch up with the changes you're making.
Be sure that you're logging everything. Sometimes people forget about things like veggies, drinks, cooking oils, and condiments. For some people these can add up to enough to halt your weight loss progress.
Make sure you are logging accurately also. It's one thing to log, it's another thing to be accurate about it. You might find a food scale helpful. For foods you commonly eat make triple sure that the database you are using for nutritional value is accurate - perhaps try a second source to confirm.
Recalculate your TDEE if you haven't lately. As you lose weight your body requires fewer calories to run. Every 5-lbs you should recalculate.

So if your goal is 1600kcal per day, and your activity monitor says you burned 110kcal exercising, only eat 1600kcal + (110kcal * .5) = 1655kcal. Some others choose to not count exercise at all.
If you included a level of activity in your TDEE calculation, make sure not to count regular activities such as walking around as exercise - that was already roughly accounted for when the calculator asked for your daily activity levels (sedentary, lightly active, moderately active, highly active, etc). Only include exercise where you actually went to the gym or outside to run and so forth.

Can cooking oils make you bloat? I bought some canola oil because muh omega 3/6s (I am not sure why I didn't just buy flaxeseed oil) and I swear within the last week I've gained like 5 lbs (I don't have a scale in my dorm but I can't see my cheekbones anymore). It seems like I just keep bloating and bloating even though I am eating under my TDEE. I only cooked one dish with the oil and eat it once a day. Thinspo, few questions here. I go the the gym often these days and am very slowly losing more weight which is awesome. My problem is that I don't know how to deal with not being skinny (yet). I'm 1.87m (6'2'') and 66kg (145 pounds) male. Am I crazy for wanting to go to 60kg?

Mom tells me I'm get anorexic but the thing is I already look skinny. I just want to get rid of the old belly. And I really think that is a normal weight for tall people who are pretty thin.

It is normal. At my lowest I was 6'1 at 140 then I started drinking beer too much and am up to 150 (normal was 145). Now I've been eating no carb and saving the empty cals for beer and taking walks.

Ok, but as I said, are you skinny too? It something to be that weight when you have a somewhat big torso but if you just have a stick as a body then it worries me a bit.
