It used to be really popular here like, 20 years ago. I hadn't seen it since then, but I just came back from Japan and it's fucking EVERYWHERE there. Every single store had either Champion or some similar knock-off.

I never liked champion. The arms were too skinny on the t-shirts and the sweatshirts shrunk up, especially the crew necks.

They are inoffensive though.

The XXLs were always made too short and they had a huge ass neck opening that you could fit a watermelon through. For a athletic wear company their XXL was made to fit Don Vito not an athlete.

The fit was always really weird for Champion.

Pretty sure they have MiItaly and a MiJapan which are pretty good in comparison to the shite you get at Target

Was never big in the uk. I vaguely remember it next to Umbro and Fila in the 90's. The reverse weave line is all you can really get here. I'd say it's starting to pick up here because of rappers and rise in streetwear in general.

yeah exactly. this is my armchair psychology thesis on it. but like you said you bought it because you didnt care and just needed something to wear. Think its just about exclusivity for them at that point. When all your friends can all buy the latest high-fashion shit just like you. it becomes like us dealing with all the kids in hs/college wearing stan smiths.

Probably has to do with their marketing and presence in international markets. I was in Tokyo a couple years ago when a Champion store popped up there. It felt like a boutique, not a huge selection, everything in there was really expensive. It seemed hilarious to me having grown with Champion brand PE clothes in the US. They're biting Supreme's "premium street clothes for cool kids" strategy and it appears to be working.

We used to make fun of kids wearing Champs back in school. It was FUBU tier trash for niggers and poor kids.
