What does /fa/ think about cyberpunk-styled clothes?
A: Are they ideal clothes we should try to start having?
B: Are there more clothes outthere that are Deus-Ex like? The techno-modern blending of normal and future?

That's more like Niheicore as we used to say. Basically a sleeker, less zany version of cybergoth. Not really like Deus Ex stuff

It's cosplay fashion. It offers no significant practical advantage. Don't expect anyone else to wear it. Only wear it if you don't seek peer approval.

It's one of those trends that are only ever "netstream" i.e. you will only ever encounter it on internet circlejerks and never in meatspace. Therefore whenever you wear it in public, you will be the only one dressed like that. Be prepared for that.

But even then, keep in mind that if you wanna dress like a typical deus ex character you won't be dressing as a cyberpunk, you'll be dressing as a normal upper-mid class dude from the future.

most fashion is cosplay to some extent or the other. your personal style should ideally be a form of self expression. yeah it's easy to laugh at how autistic "cosplayers" may seem but they are actually more aware of their personal style than most people who mindlessly adopt whatever is trendy or most-currently socially accepted. i respect someone who has immersed themselves in a culture and sought out pieces that speak to this personal story a hell of a lot more than someone who closely hugs the trending line and easily picks up and discards looks as popular styles wax and wane.

the best form of peer approval isn't from mirroring the crowd - it's from the respect you get for being authentic to yourself, your influences, your vision, etc. at the end of the day, the majority of people who just meander from trend to trend in search of personal style will be envious of someone who's defined their own identity independently of the herd.

The techwear virgin:
>bulbous shaved head
>ridiculously high collar looks like foreskin
>desperately tries to convince himself that all those clip straps and airtight zippers are useful
>tacky asymmetrical fit makes him look chubby and lopsided
>never takes off his baggy anorak because he still hasn't managed to figure out how the fastening system works
>listens to Death Grips on repeat to make himself feel like a hacker
>barely knows how to join an IRC channel
>wears overpriced running shoes that are barely distinguishable from cheap Nike knockoffs
>still watches parkour videos like it's 2010
>insists that his goofy tapered jogging pants are "military-inspired"
>has watched Ghost in the Shell once. The live-action one.
>fell for the VR meme and uses his oculus rift every week out of sheer buyer's remorse
>wears ballistic gloves but doesn't own a gun
>encases his precious smartphone within ten layers of bulletproof sheathes
>wouldn't know a vampire if it bit him on the dick
>only steps out of his mom's basement once a week to see if the techwear trend has caught on at last

The cyberchad:
>pink mohawk
>wears advanced holographic cybergoggles but doesn't use them
>is signed to an independent digital hardcore label from Japan
>blew all his money on drugs, neuro-porn and experimental weapons, wouldn't be able to buy nice clothes even if he wanted to
>ragged fake leather jacket with spikes and gang patches
>cheap motorcycle boots
>puke and oil stains
>has never laid eyes upon a touchscreen or cellphone even once, carries a massive cyberdeck instead
>arms constantly flailing and twitching due to combat drugs withdrawal symptoms
>hunts mutant vampires for a living
>uses his hippocampus as a flashdrive to carry top-secret data to his clients
>faulty brain implants make him see the world as a 16-bit video game cutscene
>lives in a sewer pipe or in a secret bunker

I know, i'm just warning you: even if you manage to start a circlejerk internet trend, that's as far as it's gonna go.
