Obviously you don't know a thing about gym. You should go there like you don't care. You go there to lift heavy metal. Like a man! So you gotta dress like a proper man.

Let me give you an advice. For example thats how I always dress while in the gym. Pic is totally related, everything I have is just like in the pic, just my blue shorts are a bit more long.

You need good comfortable shoes obviously. Ones that wont slip on the floor and ones you wont get sweaty in. My choice is shoes for indoor soccer.

Then you choose socks. If you have shoes of light color, pick dark socks. And for dark shoes other way around. If you wear black shoes you can use socks with a fun pattern. I prefer sheeps and ducks, they are totally hardcore. Obviously socks should be long enough because you are a man. No sissy short socks!

Then you pick some shorts. Don't pick short ones, pick longer ones. They should be longer then usual shorts but shorter than pants. You need a good taste of balance there. Between your socks and the shorts you should have about 20 cm of hairy manly leg.

Oversized T-shirt should perfect your image.
