Try some Ralph Lauren if you're looking for something basic and live in the U.S. they have a lot of stuff on sale too so you might be able to pick up something cheap.

Uniqlo for unbranded basics. Champion or Adidas for cheap comfy shit.

Okay OP, I'll help you out. The absolute goat of hoodies, the fucking pinnacle from which man can go no higher, is the Carhartt Work In Progress "Hooded Chase Jacket". I have a few of them, and although they're quite expensive they're totally worth it. These are the best made, the best designed and the best fitting hoodies of all time. I've always been really into hoodies and I'm telling you straight. They're called jackets because the fabric is 13 oz., and everything about them is perfect. Heavyweight and just 100% comfy and cool. Heed my advice - if you get one of these it will last you FOREVER. I can't say enough good about them; honestly, you'll thank me, and you will NEVER regret the purchase. I'm partial to the black zip-ups, because they're gorgeous and they'll still look fucking killer twenty years from now, but they also make a pullover version of the same one. The raglan sleeves are PERFECT, and the fit of these is over-the-top fantastic. They're slim cut, so I strongly recommend sizing up one size. For instance, I'm 6'1" and weigh about 165lbs., tall and rail thin in other words, and ordinarily I would wear a size large hoodie, but with these the size extra large fits me completely perfect. You're gonna think I work for the damn company, but I don't. I've just seen numerous threads about where to obtain the best hoodie, and I know how frustrating that search can be, and so I'm trying to help you: trust me, this is the one and only. Either zip or pullover, you'll fucking fall in love.

The one caveat I'll add is that you should carefully de-thread and remove the yellow embroidered logo on the sleeve. It's a bit time consuming, might take you fifteen minutes, but it's easy and it's worth the effort. After you're done you'll have a work of art that you treasure dearly, and one which is tough as dirt and indestructible. Honest.
