Sorry. Old thread wasn't updating so i didnt see we moved and accidentally bumped an old ass thread. Reposting question.

Is it dangerous if your period disappears? I haven't had mine since maybe August, should I see a doctor about it? I don't actually have a libido anymore either, and I've yet to have a sex life, and frankly I slightly suffer from /pol/ autism in regards to sex, but while I don't care about being impotent psychologically but I wasn't planning on ruining my body (THAT much). Not sure if this is the proper place to post this but
178cm
63kg
Male
20 years old and BMI 20 as well

I only really have a gut because of my poor lifestyle (wrists are 15cm in circumference and biceps 25cm to give you an idea) and I'm planning on slimming down a bit more and getting into shape to get rid of that.
That aside, my real problem and reason behind this blog post is the fact that I have pectus carinatum and flared ribs.
Google it if you're not familiar, but basically I have a sternum that juts out. A pigeon chest. It's not too extreme, but it gave me some serious body dysmorphia when it developed during my teenage years. I gained some weight which helped hide it a bit, peaking at 70kg 2 years ago, but have since just been walking and exercising more.
I don't have as big of a complex about it anymore, it's part of who I am, but it's still kind of an obstacle to losing weight. I feel like if I lose some more it's only going to become more obvious again, but as it stands I really don't want a B shaped body with my skinnyfat gut. A P would be preferable if I have to be honest. My first thought was that just focusing on building chest muscle while lowering my bodyfat percentage would be the way to go, but I'm not too sure.
So I wanted to know if anyone have any tips in dealing with being thin and having pectus carinatum - any style or workout tips?
Until now I've largely been relying on button-downs and henleys on giving me the best best fit but also not accentuating my chest, or just layering so my figure is more uniform. Clothes that are otherwise too tight or too loose tend to make it stick out so I've been avoiding them.

Correct. You won't make any muscle gains eating at maintenance cals or lower. You only need a small increase over maintenance though, like 200 cal for some people.
Then when losing weight you should continue lifting to retain muscle and focus the body on fat burning. If you already have some muscle you could do just lift+deficit so that the muscle shows once the fat burns off.

I have no idea which is better to do first, gains then cut or cut then gains. Any fitizens have insight?

>Correct. You won't make any muscle gains eating at maintenance cals or lower.
People always say this shit and there's simply no evidence for it. Quite the contrary, actually, there have been several trials where people ate at a deficit and managed to lose fat while putting on muscle. "You can't lose fat and also gain muscle" and "you can't gain muscle while eating at a deficit" may seem obvious and common-sensical but they're not true.

Now, for most of us, it's certainly MUCH EASIER to gain muscle eating a calorie surplus, etc etc, I'm not trying to give advice here, I'm just tired of people repeating this myth as though there's some physical, biological reason for it being impossible when there's documented cases of it happening.

We're not mentally ill.
The eating habits you are describing are those of someone who is destined for lifelong morbid obesity.

A 200 calorie "snack" is the same as eating a candy bar. If it's Jiff or some shit like that, there is probably more sugar & fat in that spoon than there would be in a snickers.

And you're doing that 2-4 times a day? That's fucked.

>> No.12849331

>>12849316

Not the full 32 grams each time. It's usually around a quarter or half of that. I thought I made that clear in the previous post.

The full 32 grams of peanut butter (jiff) is 3 grams of sugar. 3 grams of sugar through a full day is not detrimental to your health.

But I also don't sit on my ass all day, I work out daily.

And there definitely is some illness in these threads.

>> No.12849375

The joke is that fasting is extremely beneficial to health.

Fast for 3+ days (ideally 5-7) and your body will use fat as an energy store while preserving muscle.

It also slows down ageing through something called autophagy.

You can also cause more autophagy by:

1. low protein diet. You only need 30-40 grams a day. Don't listen to /fit/ idiots telling you to eat 200 grams a day.

2. moderate carbs. Keto fags are retarded. Carbs are good. Fruit is essential.

3. moderate exercise. No need to lift weights. Just walk.

The "ideal" ideal diet (optimal health) is actually closer to what anorexics do that the average fat ass fuck who eats 3500 calories a day (actual figure, that's the US average).

The problem with ana is that they're starve for too long or eat small amounts of food here and there. That's stupid. Have a normal meal and then fast.

Everyone keeps telling me I'm too thin and I need to eat....

...but I also live in a country where everyone is a fat fuck and being normal really means being overweight.

How do I know if I'm underweight?

BMI is horseshit because it doesn't take into account muscle and bf%.

Hi /fa/,

Im a fatass (6ft-183cm, 192lbs-87kg) who wants to get to atleast 70kg. Can you destroy me emotionally so I feel bad about myself and force myself to lose weight?

Yes, thank you.

Nuts and fruit are 100% always on the list for healthy snacks. Which is why I suggested it in the first place. It's completely harmless to eat even within the serving size.

There are people here starving themselves and won't allow themselves a spoonful of peanut butter because anon think it's equal to all of the junk packed into a snickers bar.

3, 5 and 10 day fasts have different purposes.

You should do a three day (i.e. a weekend) fast every month. I hate to use the word "cleanse" but it's actually accurate here.

A five day fast (over a long-weekend) twice a year, instead of the three day fast. After 3 days you go into ketosis and start burning fat. 5 days is useful for fat loss.

A 10 day fast once a year. Some people do this after christmas when they put on weight. This is for cell regeneration.

All other days simply do an intermittent fast (eat for 8 hours, fast for 16) for overall health and longevity.

Yes of course! Sorry it took me a while.
>looking good in tshirts
This definitely happens; while I didn't necessarily look 'bad' at your weight, I definitely feel so much more confident now.
>calories
This varies a lot for me, but I just try to keep below 1000, and if it ends up being even lower then that's great. Usually this is easy to do if you just opt for more veggies and decrease overall volume. Also while not exactly necessary, I found that cutting out any calorie beverages helped a lot.
>carbs
I only started worrying about these recently, because I'm trying to hone in on what sort of body I want, and these don't mix well with a tighter core. For the majority of my weight loss I didn't really care what I was eating, as long as it was low calorie and at least moderately healthy.
> exercise
I'm not much of a gym person, so I mainly did trail runs (only a mile or two at a time) for cardio and rock climbed (indoor) for strength. Both of these are really good ways to tone your body during the weight-loss and burn a ton of calories (relatively)
>loose skin
I barely have any excess skin, the only place I have a little is my upper arms when I hold them out to the side, but it'd be completely gone if I lifted for maybe a week; if we have similar builds at all then you should be fine.

The last 8 or so pounds I've lost have probably been mostly muscle, as I've pretty much stopped exercising entirely due to reasons, but daily I still keep to 100 pushups and as many 1 minute planks as I can fit in. Also I put my max calories to 800 To compensate for the lack of exercise, but once I'm at my desired weight I'll do about 1400 for maintenance.

For example, yesterday I had about 500 cal of sautéed vegetables throughout the day

fastbro, do you have any info on loose skin reduction? It was mentioned in the last thread. Here's the info I gathered but I haven't found any medical publications to corroborate it:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autophagy
>Autophagy (or autophagocytosis) is the natural, regulated, destructive mechanism of the cell that disassembles unnecessary or dysfunctional components.

Dr Fung describing skin reducing with fasting

https://idmprogram.com/how-much-protein-is-excessive/
>More protein intake means more turnover of protein and more losses. Less intake means less turnover. So there is quite a variation. It is also energy-dependent. That is, if you are trying to achieve negative energy balance (lose weight) then you need LESS protein. Why? Because there is all sorts of protein loss associated with fat loss. There is less skin, connective tissue, capillaries, blood, dermis etc associated with weight loss – all of which needs to be catabolized (burned up and not replaced). Think about those bariatric surgery shows on TLC where surgeons remove 20-30 pounds of excess skin after weight loss. Yes, that’s all protein that should have been catabolized. As an aside, in my clinic where we do a lot of intermittent fasting, I have not yet sent a single patient to the plastic surgeon for removal of excess skin, even though weight loss sometime is over 100 pounds.

Side note, he says "I have not yet sent" ... he doesn't say they don't have excess skin. So take it with a grain of salt.

avoid the on-campus food, it's probably high calorie. That's how I gained my weight.

Like other anon said, veggies are lowest calorie. Frozen or canned if you wanna be cheap. Rice, potatoes, beans, and lentils are all cheap but usually higher cal. If you like those starches then get a small pot if your dorm has a stove, or a big ceramic container for boiling water in the microwave. Lean meat is good if you have a way to cook it, or a freezer for the pre-cooked stuff (or let it thaw as long as you eat it in a couple days). Favor spices over oil/cheese for flavor for lower cal. Shop at the budget store of course. Actually count calories - set a reminder on google calendar or something for 6 months from now to ensure you're still watching calories.

You need to redpill her before she gets prego, and then supervise her weight loss afterwards by making a diet and exercise plan and making sure she sticks to it. New to thinspo stuff here, so tips would be nice.
I think I'm somewhere between 115-120lb, 160cm, girl, 20.
I wish people would stop telling me I'm skinny because I'm not, I maybe pass as slim??(considering brittbong land is mostly obese now) but I think that's pushing it.
Not sure what a good goal weight would be.
I think I was 130lb at my highest but that was when I was a stupid teen not understanding I didn't have to metabolism of a child anymore.
Aiming for 1200 cal or less a day and to walk 10k a day if possible.

You need someone then who takes care of their body before pregnancy. "Naturally thin" women are the ones who balloon because they aren't used to having to restrict their intake. Also, people who are disciplined in other areas tend to be disciplined with their bodies.
Don't except someone to lose weight as soon as they pop the baby out though, some can do it but for others their milk dries up, especially if they were underweight before pregnancy.

I think a good weight for you would be 105, at least at first. When you get there you can decide if you want to keep losing. That's what I do: lose in chunks. My first goal was 120, then 110. Having smaller goals made losing the weight seem like an easier task, at least to me.
To find out how many calories you should be eating, calculate your TDEE (https://tdeecalculator.net/ ) then figure out how much you want to lose per week. A deficit of 500 calories per day is a loss of 1 lb per week - a 1000 calorie deficit is 2 lbs lost. Trying to lose more than 2 lbs/week is unhealthy and should be avoided if possible. 1200 sounds pretty good though.
I personally don't count steps because a) I like wandering around and being outside anyway and b) I'm a ~free spirit ~ so having too many concrete goals just pisses me off and makes me flake on all of them, but 10k sounds like a healthy daily goal.
As for people telling you that you're skinny, maybe you carry weight in a way that makes you look skinnier. When my dad was a teen, he was around 72kg at 170cm, so almost overweight, but he carried weight in a way that made him look so skinny that people would tell him to go to the doctor. That may be the case with you too.
Anyway, good luck!

So you want people to stay skinny fat?
All of that is counterintuitive for optimal fat burning. Moderate protein, low carb with carb cycling, definitely lift and cardio. Lifting and cardio is the fastest fat burning routine, low carb makes it quicker, with the caveat of needing a cycle so you don't balloon right back up.

Keto isn't retarded, it's "fasting" but with actual calories, people actually recommend fasting into ketosis before starting a keto diet, it's just the same principle of fasting and low carb. I just disagree with it for making it difficult to consume alot of plant compounds, which are carb heavy, but to lose weight fast, it's tried and tested.

>>12853430
That's par for the course when you starve yourself. Nausea sets in around Day 3 usually, gets better over time. I do strict water fast, so I load up on electrolytes and minerals before I start and only intake water during. I believe the people that say taking in anything else activates digestive enzymes and essentially continually starving yourself instead of letting your digestion rest.

Also a black anon, always been pretty small my entire life thanks to extremely fast metabolism.
>Height, weight, gender, age
5'8", 136lbs, male, 21
>Highest weight
136lbs
>Goal weight
Not sure, I have trouble putting on weight so I'm trying to embrace being lean while working on muscle tone.
Pic is me, do I qualify?

My ex caused permanent damage to her reproductive system from her ED. Please be careful and seek medical advice. You can safely get to low bmi by hitting your minimum nutrition goals, but if you've lost your period/libido, you're not cutting safely.

I don't have any money left and am now out of food. Can you guys give some advice on how to supress hunger?
Also, what should I eat to remain healthy while not eating much? Looks like I'll be completely broke for a while longer

COFFEE
Drink a lot of cheap coffe and you will be filled up while having energy.
>what should I eat to remain healthy while not eating much?
Rice with broccoli and soy sauce is a cheap meal that is healthy and tastes well.
For breakfast I suggest oats.

>been working hard for a year to lose as much weight as possible
>not /thinspo/ just yet but lost 14 kg from 66kg to 52kg (the best weight I've been in my life)
>of course get the usual comments 'wow you're so skinny anon' 'don't lose any more weight anon or there'll be nothing left of you!' 'are you sure you're eating anon?'
>but I'm still immensely disappointed with my body
>can't even appreciate my achievements because all of my clothes are too big for me now
>end up looking like shit every time I go out because clothes are baggy on me
>tfw lost weight to be effay
>no cute clothes anywhere I look

Basically I'm a skeleton in rags. I suppose I should wait to buy any clothes until I'm at my ideal weight (50-45kgs) but even so, I get sick of wearing the same baggy high-waisted jeans with the same old sweaters that don't even hang off me nicely.

Oversized clothes can be great and all but I don't have the right things to match with them. Even my cute tennis skirt is way to big for me now.

I hate living in Australia, it's impossible to find nice clothes, let alone ones I am happy with or that I can afford.

Heyyy! How's your night going?

I'm about 5'4''.
I would buy online but for ... family issues, I can't. I'd love to make my own clothes someday because I'm very particular about what I wear. Even if I could buy online, shipping is so pricey, especially since I find most of the clothes I like on Etsy from the US. Shipping can cost more than the item itself.

I also live in a rural area so there are no places to buy clothes and I've scoured my op shops but found nothing good. Oxford street in Sydney is the best place I've found clothes, in vintage stores and such, but they resell old op shop finds for heaps.

Women aren't fucking retarded, if I get pregnant, i wouldn't just eat whatever I want, when the child comes off I'd start dieting again, I think it's logic, thinspo ppl want to stay thinspo, right?
Also, it's not everything about genes, I'd want to raise my children with healthy eating habits so they can be thin their holiday life and won't have to struggle like I am rn.
Don't take this post seriously, I don't think on having children.

I heard you get it back by packing up on healthy fats but I don't know how much of it is true. I don't mind being an enuch tho. I still feel romance and being puberty-tier aroused was a pain in the neck so I don't miss it.

fasting atm (25h out of 72), for me, you just have to really WANT it you feel me. I sometimes simply get tired of eating and all this business so I decide I take a break from food. I'd fast for longer but I have a halloween treat to bake for my class.

Ah, it's going well, sorry for the late reply. Yeah I live in the city of Sydney, Oxford street is nice. I'm a very tall skinny guy so I know the struggle of finding fitting clothes.
You could always try somewhere like uniqlo, it's pretty affordable and given its Asian I think it fits quite tight. The uniqlo on Pitt St is pretty decent.
Keep working on the /thinspo/, don't listen to the negative people. 45 kgs for a 5'4 girl is absolutely fine.
