I used to work at an M specialty shop and worked on these all day, they're great cars if well taken care of and especially if properly modified. About 50% of our business was track and race cars, too, so I got to work on a lot of seriously badass M3s. (That's almost 100% nowadays, BTW, I've been by the shop a few times in the last year since the owner is a friend and it's nothing but full-race M3s and Porsches now.)

I'm not a big fan of the convertibles, though.

Bought it when I was 17, still driving it 4 years later. Repairs have been a bitch, but I think it looks pretty cool, especially in the evening light when it's been polished, the colour turns to molten gold.
