We've discussed this in other threads but scrutiny towards Ivy League schools' admission practices combined with liberalization means that most Ivies are really not any preppier than any other school with a low admission rate (as they are reluctant to let too many in). Actual rich boarding school kids largely go to places like Georgetown or various liberal arts colleges, from what I understand, though I'd bet any decent school has a small share of the prep school set.

Depends on school. I went to Dartmouth, which is on the preppier end of the spectrum, but few kids actually dressed regularly like the guy in your picture. Most students wore a mix of bean boot/outdoorsy/hiker wear with some prep sensibility. Plus, dressing super preppy everyday is just not that practical.
