For anyone looking for fragrance suggestions, give as much information as possible about what you want. Helpful info could include gender, price range, climate/season, need (work/clubbing/etc.), notes/families you like/dislike, and other perfumes you've tried and liked/disliked.

If anyone thinks Black Orchid is too femme, they should give Man in Black a try. Same boozy, waxy spicy blend but with less overt citrus and more woods. I prefer it vs. Spicebomb too.

The All Blacks edition has a blast of pepper in the opening but it doesn't last long before it turns to the same scent.

Excellent for fall nights and dates.

Hello, /fa/. I'm looking for a perfume to use for going to class. I'm male, 18 years old and don't really like very sweet, floraly or fruity scents. I'm looking for something that can be used in summer-spring but if used in autumn or winter doesn't strike as inadequate. I have no limit on the price, but i don't want a very well-known and spread fragrance like the one from JPG or Rochas. Any recommendations? Does anyone have a recommendation for a non-offensive, clean, modern scent for work?

At the moment I have been wearing Issey Miyake L'eau D'Issey, but I feel it's getting played out, plus I just need to switch my style up. Has anyone tried Jo Malone's Earl grey and Cucumber? I am worried that this may be a tad too feminine, but was wondering if it is unisex enough to get away with.

Also I need something to complement Issey Miyake L'eau D'Issey during the Fall/Winter seasons, I need something that is still citrus-y/fresh but more suited to colder weather? Thanks for any suggestions

I'm pretty sure it will cost pretty much the same everywhere... it is a well-known and mass produced scent so I assume it will just be sold at retail price regardless of store, though some stores may have it on discount but I wouldnt bet on it.

Daver, Dan and Cody are nice and are obviously having fun with something that they love.

Sy(sp) and the fragrance apprentice are too serious and appear over the top and exaggerated.

MrSmelly gets high marks for me. There's a guy who obviously loves frags but isn't afraid to poke fun at the hobby, nor is afraid of being laughed at. Ditto for Lex Ellis, wherever he is now. The hobby needs more people like them.

Back in the day I bought myself a bottle of Tokyo by Kenzo, and, man, it was the best fragnance I've ever smelled in my whole life.
However, it was way too weak to use. The smell became feint in several minutes, was barely noticeable after half an hour, and vanished completely in no time (it took me more to commute to my uni lol).

Is there anything similar to this one, but more long-lasting? I suck at fragnance descriptions, but I remember very powerful grapefruit smell (also ginger and green tea). I tried modern Kenzo ones, but most of them are cucumber lemonade with or without spices, so it's not what I'm looking for.

I'm new to this and feel strange about purchasing a fragrance with "toilet water" written on the box. Feel like I bought bottled bathroom mist.

Did I do it right?

Endymion is pretty masculine imo, and though i haven't tried the concentre version, i can't imagine it being less so

and take online reviews/comments with a heavy pinch of salt; some people have such a narrow view of what makes a scent masculine that only heavy woodsy scents with notes like tobacco and whiskey qualify as such

really, the only way you can decide is to try it for yourself

According to reviews it's more on the longer lasting side. I own a bottle and the olfactory fatigue always gets me. After a while you can't smell it but that's because you're accustomed to it, which is probably the problem the other guy has. I'm not too crazy about the fragrance itself but other people love it. I've gotten the most compliments wearing IP2.

Thierry Mugler Pure Havanne. Works best in winter, too much heat outside can make it oppressive and overly strong. Slumberhouse Jeke is good too, easily the strongest juice I have, you can smell a single drop from like 5 yards away, so use sparingly. Serge Lutens Chergui is good too.

Not really 'niche' so much as it is underrated I guess but Encre Noire by Lalique is really dark. Probably one of your best bets. Has been called a not as good version of Chanel Sycamore from their Les Exclusives collection - haven't smelled Sycamore so can't comment from personal experience but it gets said a lot so there must be something to it.

Black Afgano by Nasomatto - doesn't get much darker or more unique than this but is perhaps to loud and aggressive to qualify as meditative. You may or may not be able to get it to work for you, but regardless, is definitely worth a sniff though.

Patchouli Absolute by Tom Ford is quite dark and has a sedentary, melancholy, dirty characteristic to it.

I also had seen YSL L'Homme being a favorite in /fa/, but i found it too tame and sweet.
Out of all the fragrances i tried (and i tried two entire department stores in a couple days), i really liked Luna Rossa by Prada and Opium by YSL, and ended up buying the latter one.

Finding out what you like is part of the fun. If you like YSL Opium you may have a liking for powerhouses. Try Chanel Egoiste and Antaeus, YSL Kouros, and Van Cleef & Arpels Tsar.

If you like Luna Rossa, try the LR Extreme flanker or Le Male Popeye.

Thoughts on Egoiste?

I just got mine and I love it because of how unique and classy it is, but I'm worried because my work requires me to interact with a variety of people and it might prove polarizing.

What about Tom Ford for Men? I could use a safe, but still non-stereotypical office frag.

How can you not even mention Robes08, the original fragrance youtuber and still probably the best. He has the best reviews and likes the art. He said that his collection is worth over $100 000 and he also doesn't like jeremy fragrance

>> No.11694929

Not liking Jeremy Fragrance isn't a stamp of authenticity.
I thought all the videos of people attacking him on youtube were really silly. I get that they feel like youtube fragrance reviewing is 'their thing', but fuck them. What he does is none of their business and he's not beholden to them simply because they've been doing it for longer. Clearly doesn't work for any company, and whether or not he bought subscribers is irrelevant. If he did to get the ball rolling on his channel then good for him, smart move.

Having said that, I fucks with Robes08

I'm a medicine resident who works mostly in the hospital. Any kind of fragrance is definitely a no-no in places like the ICU, but i'm warming up more to the idea of using it when I'm with mostly-alive patients or in clinic. Still hard though, since anything strong or sexual would probably be off-putting. Yes/no? Any suggestions?

As a pretty big fragrance enthusiast and collector, there aren't too many occasions/places where I'd say "wear nothing," but the hospital is definitely one of them. That said, if you absolutely *had* to wear something, I'd recommend something extremely light and clean, and only 1 spray on the chest to limit projection. Possible candidates:

worth doing if you are that curious about it, but
aside from the more dessert-oriented spices, e.g. cinnamon, star anise, why would you? i mean, i like the smell of rosemary and marjoram, but smelling like them? i don't know. it would have be one hell of a blending job by the perfumer so you don't automatically think or a roast chicken something.

I loved it when i smelled it on my dad on a really still warm summer night, and he was wearing the EDT. The EDP is thicker and slightly cloying sometimes, and i feel like what was so great about the original was its airy quality, the way it just floated around you. Either is good, but EDT for me.

Which one do you guys think is mlre appropiate for a guy, going to college/work so i need it to be casual and profi/office at the same time.

Also, looking around at online retailers i saw they have way lower prices than sephora or shops as such.i assume some taxes come into play, but ive heard this theory saying that most online stores selling parfumes give you older ones, not as fresh as brick and mortar stores. l'eau de issey miyake is definitely your best bet for what you described.

yeah, order online for sure. fragrancenet, strawberrynet, beautyspin, ebay (if you're not retarded) are all your friends. make sure to use the 25%-30% coupon fragrancenet offers, be sure that if you're buying from ebay you thoroughly read the description and recognize that it's coming from someone with a lot of ratings. if you come across a tom ford for $100 or something and it's coming from russia or some shithole like that, you bet it's fake.

as for the age thing, don't worry about it, fragrance does decay with time, but you're not going to be getting any 2004 bottles laying around, you'll be just fine.
