I've done it.
Dropped conditioner, changed shampoo for bar soap and didn't comb. Toweled rigorously after every shower. Make sure you keep the locks separated and roll them between your fingers every once in a while.
Had them for about 6 months. They were quite thin but that made them more manageable and better looking since they were chin length at best.

I'm not exactly sure if you'd look good with the cut you plan on getting. Having curly red hair really doesn't do you any favors. I might recommend cutting it short, maybe to like an inch or less.

Then again, I can never seem to be satisfied with my own hair, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

Honestly, this shorter hair is better than the pic from before. It may seem a bit average and boring, but that is not a bad thing, and, overall, it better suits your face, so why not stick with the shorter cut?

Also, if being a bit boring looking in the hair department is getting to you, why not use some product to give that shorter hair a more wild and messy look, you know, to spice it up?

I shave clean every two days, so there's no transition between a beard. My hair is a long, down to my mouth, slicked back into a side part.

cut doesn't compliment your cheekbones, many people don't realize this when they cut so short. you need longer (just long enough for the hair to lay flat against head) sides to straighten out your headshape.

I use regular H&S conditioner. I've also used their Instant Hydration Conditioner line that may of worked even better.
