I'm a broke ass commission artist trying to become a concept artist.

I earn 600 a month from arts, and another 600 from flipping burgers part time. The amount of money i've been earning from commissions has been increasing and the more it increases, the less i my dead end shit job.

Hopefully soon i start making enough to just do art so i can enjoy life.

Thanks. I'm gonna need some luck if i want to actually pull off making a living from concept art.

It's a really tiny and exclusive field. There are tons of good artists who don't make it because there are only about 80k positions available for it in the u.s, with millions of kids going to school for it and even more self taught artists trying to get the job as well. Getting good enough to actually do the job is hard enough, and once you achieve that it becomes about networking and knowing the right people which is also pretty daunting.

I think i can do it though. I'm wont be content unless i can live my dream, you know? For me personally, working a normal job for the rest of my life would be worse than death.

They are. Scope and independence of practice varies - some states NPs have to be supervised by an MD. But NPs prescribe, do more thorough assessments, and do some advanced procedures (stitches, central line placement, intubation, etc.) Then, of course, we're nurses, so we have a whole different frame of reference. In general I'd say nurses are more collaborative with patients and have a better handle on the psycho social side of things.

As the resident old fuck on the board, I can confirm that a lot of my dumb friends are convinced they are secretly geniuses who were just (1) too good for school, (2) fucked by "the system," or (3) otherwise a victim of circumstance. Most of them still work in manual labor positions in their mid-20s.

Incidentally, this is a good way to tell which girls you should avoid like the plague: any girl who wants "intelligent conversation" is a girl whose life isn't very intelligent in the first place.

I knew this response would come up. I'm not saying I am some hidden genius or anything (hence I said above average instead of highly intelligent) or that "the man" hindered me, or that I'm some kind of victim.
I am aware that I made poor choices in life. I take responsibility on some level for where I am today (I say on some level because there is part of me that for some reason just couldn't focus my intelligence on something)
During secondary school I was in those "fast track" classes where all the above average students would attend and was on a good path.
I can't quite pin point where I made these bad decisions, my teenage 14-18 year old years are a bit of a blur tbh. But I know for certain I should be in a much better position in life than where I am now with the rest of the common wage slave people

I'm also using lawyerbux to fund me getting more degrees. Currently working on an engineering degree, which is taking embarrassingly long (2 years) because I had no STEM background beforehand.

Grocery store bagger. About to get an A.S. in IT. I was supposed to be getting one in Computer Science, but my school isn't that great, and just recently started offering the degree, the final courses I need to take to get it aren't even developed yet.

I just hope I can find somewhere technology-oriented to work that isn't minimum wage before I transfer to another school for a B.S. I don't even need to be making a ton at the end of all this, I just want to be able to live. This week's been pretty shitty and I'm wondering if I'm wasting my time trying to buy nicer clothes, like I'm tricking myself into thinking that I'll have higher self esteem and security when I'm covered in Veilance and Nonnative and Acronym, etc...

Just a bachelor's. It is pretty low and within this company it's sort of known that they underpay but things are changing for the better.

A lot of larger tech companies are moving in to Phoenix (where I live) so I'll probably move on to GoDaddy or Amazon if the pay continues to be unsatisfactory.

I just don't think this is too plausible. I mean, it's possible for some, but it is hard to maintain that you are intelligent if you aren't participating in intelligent activities (unless you are totally delusional.) I'd imagine these people believe they are clever because they spend some time doing clever people stuff, and have clever people interests, and hang out with clever friends (you) - their perceptions don't appear out of thin air. And , you know, according to research, it just isn't very likely that dumb people have clever people interests. If you like fairly serious philosophy, 'fashion' and so on, good bet is that you are reasonably clever despite a shit career. This goes espcially for the 4chan demographic, who are fucked in their other qualities (e.g. aspie, narcissistic, introverted, low social skills, low energy and so on)

People can typically judge their level of intelligence fairly well once above average (though EVERYONE thinks that they are above average.)

Graphic designer in Europe.

Just did a good job with a book cover that is getting some traction on a national level, expecting more work out of it. Hoping to work for an agency in 2 to 3 years, and to start my own in 10 to 15 years. Short-term goal is earning 50k a year, which is average in my field.

Eventually I want to be one of those people who can ask 2 mil for a logo, but that'll take some time.

Physicist at a large FFRDC lab. I work with high power laser systems and build new types of lasers. I get to wear pretty much whatever I want as long as it isn't full slacker-core. But nobody sees me b/c I spend most of my time alone in a lab with the lights off aligning experiments. And I can't wear any watches/jewelry b/c it's a dumb thing to have shiny shit all over you in a laser lab.

Also about 10% of my time is spent wearing a full bunny suit in a massive clean room.

The job is badass though. I get paid to work with lasers and basically play with really expensive legos. Pic related. I spend hours a day building experiments and shooting lasers all over the place.
